Sarah Palin tour comes to abrupt halt
Politico ^ | 08/15/2011 | Molly Ball

After just four days on the road, Sarah Palin’s bus tour is going dormant again.

In a note posted on her Facebook page Monday, Palin says she’s headed “back to Alaska for the start of the school year.”

What’s next for the former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential nominee? “While kids crack open their school books, I look forward to continuing my own writing and research on strategies and plans to help move our country forward,” she wrote.

Palin noted that she’ll be back on the road before long – she’s scheduled to keynote a Sept. 3 tea party rally in Waukee, Iowa, near Des Moines.

Her Facebook note didn’t mention it, but she’s also scheduled to headline an Oct. 7 rally with Glenn Beck in St. Charles, Mo., according to a local conservative talk-radio station’s announcement Monday.

The leg of Palin’s “One Nation” bus tour that’s now ending lasted four days, beginning midday Friday, when Palin appeared at the Iowa State Fair—just in time for her to catch the attention of the assembled national political media mob in town for the Ames Straw Poll.

On Saturday, she visited Ronald Reagan’s childhood home in Dixon, Ill., and his nearby alma mater of Eureka College. She was in Eureka when the straw poll results were released, and NBC News asked her what she thought of the results.

“The prediction was that it would either be Ron Paul or Michele Bachmann, because they spent a lot of time and energy to make sure they had delegates there who would cast those votes — so not really a surprise,” Palin told NBC, the only major news outlet following her in Illinois.

So saying that "Perry is on the same side as Rove" makes no sense.

I said this because Perry was convinced by Rove to join the GOP and run for Secretary of Agriculture.

Keep an eye on the Irondog race in Alaska.

Registration is starting; if Todd gets in, I think she’s out. Otherwise....

Probably, how long can decent people listen to how raising taxes and spending more non existent money is a positive thing. I think Obuttho has lost his laser focus on jobs once again. *snort*

I think any halt is abrupt. You don't roll past a stop sign.

TRUE GRIT (2010 movie)

Defense Attorney (in Court): "I believe you testified you backed away from Aaron Warton."

Rooster Cogburn: "That's right."

Defense Attorney: "Which direction were you going?"

Rooster Cogburn, "I always go backwards when I'm backing up."

Obama thought he was going to go head to head with her on the bus tours and draw the crowds out.

HAHA. Sarah's letting him have the field for now. Watch...he'll draw paltry crowds.

Then when he's forced to wind it down because he looks so stupid she'll bring out the bus again and draw massive crowds to show what a wimp he is.

NO...Perry and W are miles apart...Perry has a 10+ record that can easily be checked out. W spent lots of money as Governor...all the signs were there for the big spender W was...

Karl Rove personally took Rick Perry and switched him to Republican from Democrat and ran his first statewide campaign, for Agriculture Commissioner.

Best to vote for anyone but Perry.

Palin and Bachmann are solid picks.

Sarah Palin tour comes to abrupt halt

What is wrong with these people...it was NEVER an abrupt halt...it was carefully planned out by the Palins'... when I saw this headline I though oh please...another headline working on a negative spin on her ending the Bus Tour and returning to Alaska because of the kids starting school...geezzz...you plan ahead for the start of the school year when you have school aged kids...it is that simple nothing abrupt about that...

Facts are a terrible thing to overcome but some here on FR throw caution to the wind and ignore them anyway.

Hmmmmm. Tea Party. Iowa. September. Perfect spot to announce that she is running. Maybe not so perfect if she isn’t.

I would personally like to see Sarah run for the Senate from Alaska, and then run for President in the future.

In 2008 I cut McCain off the sticker and had PALIN on ever since. Wish she would do one or the other. Am getting that same “teenage girl pr___ Tease” feeling.

2nd is Perry, the more Palin waivers the more steady Perry looks.

George W. successfully ran as both a fiscal/social conservative and someone with experience. Things turned out quite different than he led on.
I'll never forget when Rush Limbaugh told us/his listeners that he met GW and then assured us he (GW) was conservative...Hey, I still love you anyway Rush

So far every President from Texas has been a huge negative in the end.
