Palin: “Could I Support Somebody Like Mitt Romney? Yeah”…

DES MOINES, Iowa — 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin said Friday that she still hasn’t decided if she’s going to run for president. Palin is also undecided about whom she would endorse if she ultimately decided against entering the race.

Swarmed by media and supporters at the Iowa State Fair, the former governor of Alaska told The Daily Caller that she’s not concerned that Mitt Romney is considered the frontrunner at this time.

“No, nothing worries me at this point,” Palin told TheDC. “Could I support somebody like Mitt Romney? Yeah.”

When TheDC pointed out that some tea partiers have pledged to make sure Romney doesn’t get the nomination, Palin said, “I’m of the mind of ABO — Anybody But Obama, at this time.”

Something tells me this is going to be another “hold your nose and vote then rush home to take a shower” election.

Far too many of them are.

What a coincidence. That’s my experience with PDS trolls.

If she had been quoted in context the clarification would not have been needed. She will deal with the source of the misinformation.

That may very well be the case, but rintense was specifically saying it was for pushing Romney and I didn’t see that at all on this thread.

Satah Palin is a wonder candidate and I would vote for her in a second. I feel sorry for her for a particular group of supporters she has. One little crisicm and you are marked “A Palin Basher”. I've been called a Palin Basher in the past and a Palin-Hater. Yet I've always donated cash to her causes and never through the GOP / RNC.

Ever see the political cartoon of the boats in the ocean. Each boat represents a GOP candidate. The first scene, the Palin boat is over crowded and all the others are empty.

One by one Palin supporters throw other Palin supporters overboard yelling “Palin Basher!!!”

By the 3rd scene many Palin supporters are swimming in the water, some are climbing aboard other candidates boats which are quickly filling up. The Palinathons slow down and it takes longer to raise money each day.

The last scene you got 2 or 3 left on Palin’s boat and all the other candidate boats are filled.

I actually feel bad for Palin because these types are included as her following. The real Palin lovers are the ones that were swimming for their lives in the waters.

Truthfully, those throwing future Palin voters overboard hurt Palin much more than they help her. Palin would not support that as she is a BIG Freedom of Speech girl.

I give my money directly to Sarah Palin. That way I do not give my money to the guys on the ship and then get thrown overboard after they receive my check.

I wonder what would happen if September rolled around, and Palin announced that she wasn’t running?

I have no idea if she's going to run, and I think you don't either. If she says she's not running, I'll move on to another candidate as will most Palin supporters. Obama has to be defeated, he has to go, I think that's a sentiment that all of us can get behind.

Fortunately for her, she's enough of a presence to continue as a great and positive force for conservatism. I don't think the candidates you support will be able to say that if they get knocked out of the race (and trust me, Bachmann WILL get knocked out and early).

So.....

What will all of you say if she announces she's running? I'm going to laugh my butt off at all of you if she does.

I'll leave you with one terrifying thought for you to contemplate, she sucked all the oxygen out of Iowa today....from Ben Smith:

Campaigning with John McCain and Mitt Romney in O’Fallon, Missouri on August 31, 2008. Doubt Palin had any control over who appeared with her during McCain’s campaign.

Except that I'm not "being dishonest." I'm disagreeing with you. Believe it or not, there is a difference...

Jim DeMint specifically said he was NOT supporting Romney this time around. Notwithstanding that second quote.

Instead of worrying about what we will do if Romney gets the nomination

I think Perry will suck the life out of Romney's campaign and that Romney will end up like Giuliani did in the last election .

If he somehow got the nomination, what would the point be of voting for him? He'd be just as likely to work with RINOs and Democrats to pass a national version of Romney care.

He put gay activist lawyers on courts in Massachusetts so I wouldn't trust him to nominate Supreme Court justices.

“”It’s obvious Jim was just trying to be nice to the guy he backed over McCain, as many conservatives did in 2008,” the source now tells The Hill. “But he would never consider backing Romney again unless he admits that his Massachusetts healthcare plan was a colossal mistake.”

Oh I know whether she is or not. But she specifically requested that I not tell you, Lakeshark.

I believe JR interpreted his post as being supportive of Romney. I think he was just agreeing with Palin that if he had to hold his nose, he would.

I don’t know that there is any other explanation. As far as not including anything about a clarification Palin made later, if you follow the link, there isn’t one in the DC article. May be because it went to press before a clarification was made.

Thanks Charles. that is about the only mud that the Palinites can throw at Jim. You got a link to that comment. As the field dilutes, I really think DeMint is going to jump in. I do remember a thread earlier that he is thinking about it.

You must have missed my defense of Palin a couple times upthread.

OMG, if that's true the space/time continuum has been destroyed.....
