House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan made the following statement today praising Speaker John Boehner's choices for the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction and explaining why he asked not to be among them:

You mean what he said 3 days later, after the picks were made? What about it? He’s just putting the best face on it. If you ask me, he should take Boner on. This was a big mistake. Boner’s selections suck.
