According to Gallup, Americans economic confidence plunged to -53 in the week ending Aug. 7, a level not seen since the recession days of March 2009. The survey goes on to report economic confidence deteriorated even faster in July and the first week of August than it did in June compared with May. This plunge in confidence contrasts with the relatively flat trend in 2010, according to Gallup. It also places consumer perceptions of the economy in the range of March 2009 during the recession.
In addition and not coincidentally the presidents job approval rating has dropped to 40 percent, tying his low from a week ago, and his disapproval rating is now 50 percent. Its only a matter of time before Obamas approval rating sinks below 40 percent, at which point the rising concern among Democrats will turn to panic.
They understand the enormous wave building against the president and his party. They saw what it did in 2010. They know what it might do to them in 2012. And theres just not much they can do to stop it.
Its going to get very, very uglyvery, very soon.
Yeah, and there were plenty of people who said the same thing about Bill Clinton in '96!
Never underestimate the ignorant rebellion of the people.
3. He calls off the election due to national emergency. (I wouldn't put it past them)
The word “draconian” should have something to do with Vlad Draculea the Impaler, but it doesn't. It's a reference the the Athenian lawgiver Draco who prescribed severe penalties for even the most minor offenses. Using it in the context of cutting the size of government is a typical example of leftist illiteracy.
Pedantry concluded.
“...Many things might happen between now and then...”
Like a chicken in every pot? Or, perhaps unemployment at 2%? Or, gasoline prices dropping to $2 per gallon? Or, some utopia arriving on a White Horse? Or, better yet, DemocRATs actually giving a damn about the USA instead of themselves and their Socialist Party?

There’s pretty much no way Obama can win a two-way race at this point, barring some major turnaround in public perception, regardless of who the GOP puts up against him. (Romney may be an exception, as his record on government takeover of healthcare and for corporate bailouts take away two of the key differentiators to Obama.)
That’s why I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see “third party” candidate created, likely to split the independent vote. Basically, someone Obama can run to the left of while the stalking horse candidate gobbles up the part of the mushy middle that would be more reluctant to vote GOP.
“..a level not seen since the recession days of March 2009.
The fact that anybody, can with a straight face, ever insist that we came out of a recession...is an incredible public measure of delusion.
51% of people pay NO FEDERAL INCOME TAX and most get cash back in some form....THOSE Bloodsuckers are his base.
Patty Murray and John Kerry are two of the DUMBEST ROCKS in that Senate!! Disater ahead.
Hey- keep Draco out of this. He always gets such a bad rap. He didn’t invent restrictive laws, he just wrote the existing ones down.

If so, let the record show ahead of time that the thugs burning down buildings and looting businesses will be Urkel's and Holder's people, not Tea Partiers.
.....all Obama has done is nothing but diversions.
That’s exactly what he’s done.
Or, better yet, DemocRATs actually giving a damn about the USA instead of themselves and their Socialist Party?
You nailed it, ETR.
BTW—So good to see you back.
He won’t win any two way race.
But he intends to run a three way race.

None of the items you cited, ExTexasRedhead, are likely to occur. But there are still unknowns that are troubling and that could work to Obama's advantage. One is the Republican nominee, who could be more RINOish than we'd like, especially if his name is Romney. Another is Trump coming in as a third party candidate, something like Perot in '92 an '96, to siphon anti-Obama votes from the GOP candidate.
it will only be ugly enough when he is in 5th place in a three man primary.
Everyone must remember: the Democrats own this economy. It is their disaster.
The economy will not improve unless Obama has a “come to God” moment and does a 180 on Marxism and convert to Capitalism. Unless that happens, the economy will continue to slide downwards.
“It’s the economy, stupid!” will work very well during the summer of 2012.
We really don’t need anything else, except maybe to add, “Are you better off today than you were three years ago?”
Keep is simple and keep it up continuously.
