London riots spark shock and gloating around the world
telegraph.co.uk ^ | August 10, 2011

The extraordinary spectacle of anarchy, arson and looting on London’s streets resulted on Tuesday in some of the world’s most authoritarian regimes - including those of Iran, Libya and even Robert Mugabe - gloating over the 'failure’ of Britain’s liberal society. ....

In an address to his regime’s armed forces, Mr Mugabe railed against his country’s former colonial master and used the London riots to demand it stop meddling in Zimbabwean affairs.

“Britain I understand is on fire, London especially and we hope they can extinguish their fire, pay attention to their internal problems and to that fire which is now blazing all over, and leave us alone,” he said.

“We do not have any fire here and we do not want them to continue to create unnecessary problems in our country. We want peace, and the people of Zimbabwe want peace.”

China meanwhile observed that riot-swept Britain had tasted the “bitter fruit” of failure to introduce Chinese-style crack downs on social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

“The West have been talking about supporting internet freedom, and oppose other countries’ government to control this kind of websites, now we can say they are tasting the bitter fruit [of their complacency] and they can’t complain about it,” wrote one commentator in the official Communist Party mouthpiece, People’s Daily. ....

Hojjatoleslam Hossein Ebrahimi, the vice-Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s foreign policy committee, demanded that British MPs allow Iran, a country noted for itsviolent suppression of opposition street protests, to send human right observers to London. ....

Libyan state-run Al-Jamahiriyah television ran an English language broadcast addressed to rioting inner city dwellers urging them to “defeat this British regime” which “killed their brothers” by leading Nato military operations to overthrow Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.

They are the ignorant and indoctrinated morons that socialism created.

Yeah.  We all seen how rioting helped Detroit in the '60s.  Talk about socialist heaven.  Even the obama worshipers are fleeing that city in droves.

“Guess the rioters know more than I do about these things.”

That is correct, you are hardwired to not understand the rioter mentality. Think of it like this: To you, a Hurricane Katrina or an economic crash is a catastrophe, to a rioter those are called looting opportunities.

Well, actually “12 guage shotguns are excellent crown control devices” made sense too.

Perhaps someone from the royal family (not Phillip, no way) has the guts to stand up soon and say no more, fight fire with fire.

Then use the shotgun in service to the crown.

I hardly know how to deal with all this rioting, thankfully hearing now, the London police have the upper hand. I remember popular entertainer one Bud Flanagan,(Stage name) and his little song to boost morale in shabby post war England, 1947.

Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner
That I love London so
Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner
That I think of her wherever I go.

I get a funny feeling inside of me
When walking up and down
Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner
That I love London Town.

Flanagan's parents fled Poland to escape the pogrom of 1893. Found refuge in East-end of London. They were Jewish. Flanagan born in Whitechapel.

London does not deserve this wickedness. I hope the pubs will ring with this old song once again.

Mugabe will be hanging from meat hooks before he dies.

Well, if the Brits had 12 gauges, they’d be able to keep the Crown in line too, so it works both ways!

In lieu of guns, other self defense items are big sellers in the UK. But, apparently, if you use them as intended in self defense, it will be determined that you were carrying it to inflict injury on another person. Even if that person attacked you, you will face punishment.

This quandry leads directly to the production of limey pussies, like the guy who wrote the following:

Kubotan [Misc.]
Kubotan [Misc.]
Offered by HAYES SPORTS & FITNESS
Price: £2.99
Availability: In stock

23 of 27 people found the following review helpful:
3.0 out of 5 stars Cheap, well built but useless, 8 Sep 2010
This review is from: Kubotan [Misc.] (Misc.)
The item itself arrived in perfect condition. It is sturdy and very comfortable to grip. Itss what it says on the tin, but there's a catch...

All the information I found on the Internet suggests that carrying a keyring-kubotan is futile. The moment you use it to defend yourself it becomes a damage inflicting weapon and you become a criminal (and can be prosecuted as such). The only scenario where you can legally use a kubotan outside your home is: "comming back from/going to martial arts training (in use of a kubotan), you were attacked and could only respond with equal force by making use of a kubotan". Anything else is interpreted as: "you were carrying an object that has an obvious use as a weapon"; it's basically the same (in the eyes of the law) as buying a spiked baseball bat with a small loop that holds keys. This should be clearly mentioned on the product page. You do not have to believe me, do your own research.

If you are a skinny/weak guy like me, the best advice in self-defence I can give is: learn to run faster, scream louder and avoid leaving your home.

Iran, Libya, and Zimbabwe have an approach that prevents this -- the violent POSes don't riot against the gov't because they *are* the gov't.
