US Republicans face record disapproval: poll

Nearly three out of five Americans have an unfavorable view of Republicans, an all-time high, and two in five do not want their own member of Congress reelected, according to a poll out Tuesday.

Overall, 70 percent of respondents to a CNN/ORC International survey said most US lawmakers should not get a new term, while just 41 percent said their own representative deserved to go back to Washington.

President Barack Obama's Republican foes won unfavorable reviews from 59 percent, an all-time high since CNN first asked the question in 1992, making the aftermath of the debt-limit battle worse for the party than president Bill Clinton's 1998-1999 impeachment hearings in his sex-and-lies scandal.

Respondents split when asked about the Democratic Party -- 47 percent said they had a favorable opinion and the same number said they viewed them unfavorably.

The arch-conservative "Tea Party" movement scored the lowest favorable rating, with 31 percent, though at 51 percent their unfavorable numbers were lower than the Republicans.

Congressional leaders fared poorly as well, with just 33 percent favorable ratings for Republican House Speaker John Boehner and 31 percent for House Democratic Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Both parties' Senate leaders, Republican Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid, got a 39 percent unfavorable rating.

What they fail to mention is that public disapproval of Republicans is aimed at those who CAVED!!!..and those like McCain/Snowe, etc.who are NEVER with conservative thinking.

I believe this is a poll that has been out since last Friday. It is a poll of 1008 adults by phone. This isn’t a poll of registered or even likely voters. This is a poll in search of a predetermined conclusion.

I’m hoping a whole lot of RINO republicans get pink slips in the coming primaries.
Some of these go along get along spend spend spenders need to go.
Quite obviously Obammy and he brood didn’t get the message last go round. If in the primaries the Tea party conservatives de feet a couple or more RINO’s ya gots to know they b quaken in their boots regardless of the size of their coffers.

Some of this disapproval is the same for the Republicans Congress by its own base as it is for Obama and his base. Many Republicans are disgusted with the RINOs that caved in to the debt ceiling. I’m not surprised at these numbers.

However, given the choice between the status quo and something different, I’m confident in 2012, the independents will reject the current course. Gallup’s poll today says Obama lost 3 points in a single day. And, the vast majority of Americans are unhappy with the direction of the country. Since Obama said today he wants to push for yet another stimulus, it’s clear he’s completely disengaged from reality. Either that or he’s trying to destroy us. Oh, yeah...I forgot-—that’s it.

“Liberal “journalists” are like the nazis in the bunker toward the end; partying, dancing and listening to the Goebbels kids sing while Red Army artillery falls all around them.”

Hopefully they have enough cyanide capsules too.

This same poll found Republican favorability at less than 40% immediately prior to the November 2010 election. Does any more really need to be said?

Well I currently harbor a large disapproval for the Reps. Since I do not have a Congresscritter I cannot approve of mine.

BTW I despise ALL Dems.

Nonsense poll released today to try to bury yesterday’s 600 point market drop and voter discontent with Obozo.

The Tea Party is the most powerful force in politics today, but it is not the most popular. Most people still don't want to hear we have to cut anything.

Exactly correct, sir.

What Americans favor:

92% support big pots of gold at the other end of the rainbow
96% support candy crapping unicorns
95% support cutting the other guys benefits
100% oppose having their own government cheese reduced
100% oppose having their taxes raised
80% favor raising other people’s taxes
93% support having their cake and eating it too

This mindset applies to all liberals, most moderates, and sadly, more than a few who tell the pollster they are "conservative".

Bullshit! That pool is bogus. If the Republicans would only show some backbone, they would be surprised at the support they would get.
