SAN ANGELO, Texas Warren Jeffs didn't want to be in the courtroom when the state presented evidence against him for the sentencing phase of his trial.
His former lead attorney returned to represent him while Jeffs was voluntarily absent.
So Jeffs, the leader and "prophet" of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, didn't see the pictures of the temple beds.
Friday afternoon the state revealed pictures of beds in the temple building at the Yearning for Zion Ranch, the 1,700-acre property in Schleicher County raided in April 2008 amid allegations that sexual abuse of children was taking place.
A former FLDS member, Rebecca Musser, testified for the prosecution Friday that she had received training before the temple was built about how beds in it would be used for sexual matters. She said what she had been taught about the presence of witnesses and someone to record the events matched what she saw at the temple outside San Angelo.
"We would learn the best ways to conceive children," Musser said about what she was taught was to happen at the temple.

From the article posted above:
She said she was a spiritual wife of Jeffs' father, Rulon Jeffs, and when he died in 2002, Jeffs wanted to marry her along with other women who had been "married" to Jeff's father.
"I will break you and I will train you to be a good wife," Musser said Jeffs had told her, and then said he would marry her in a week. She left the FLDS before that happened.
And so goes the "wholesome, happy life" at the fLDS.
This predator must be stopped.
The first time I met a large group of polygamists at once was at a company picnic for my boyfriends father’s company. They were all from different groups and some were independents (no prophet affiliation).
What struck me is the men would never talk to me, so I had to relay questions through my boyfriend, and the women would not respond to a question I asked unless her husband gave his approval. Even then the women were very closed mouthed, very controlled, very broken. They were the saddest people I have ever seen. One woman said in a conversation, “This is the only way to get to the Celestial Kingdom, so I do what I am told”.
Now I have seen this kind of control and abuse in the Mainstream Mormon church, but not quite to this degree.
Just wondering how she was able to escape.
“Warren Jeffs didn’t want to be in the courtroom when the state presented evidence against him for the sentencing phase of his trial.”
This disaster of a human being can add cowardice to his long list of flaws. Abject, despicable monster whose behavior only proves the existence of Satan, not the nonexistence of God.
They must have no innate sense of right and wrong if they give their children away to be sexually abused.
That’s simply appalling. And prior to the first raid in Texas, totally alien to me. I just cannot even comprehend having to live as these sister wives do. The women who escape have literally nightmarish stories to tell, and in many cases, for them it was “life as usual.” (sadly shaking head)
What is disturbing is they don’t see it as abuse at all. They are constantly told to do what the “priesthood” says and to never ever question the “Prophet” or what he tells them.
As I said on an earlier thread, most of the women see it as a ‘blessing’ that their child was chosen to be the wife of a prophet, a sure sign that they are going to Heaven.
I have heard one woman say “if Heavenly Father didn’t want us to get married so early, then he wouldn’t have let us have babies at that age”.
These women are products of constant brainwashing. That said, they should still be held legally responsible for their actions.
If a woman is sealed to a man and he dies, and she marries his son(Jeffs) then who gets her in Heaven? This is all too creepy for me.
Has Hollywood ever made a movie about this situation? If not, I'm wondering who looks enough like warren jeffs to portray him...
Jeffs' Compound Appears Unaffected By His Trial

CUSTER, SD - The sentencing phase for religious cult leader Warren Jeffs got underway Friday in a Texas courtroom. A jury on Thursday found Jeffs guilty of sexually assaulting two girls, ages 12 and 15, whom he took as brides in so-called "spiritual marriages."
Warren Jeffs' legal troubles haven't loosened his ties to South Dakota.
Jeffs is the leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which, for the past six years, has run a compound in a remote area in Custer County, near Pringle. It's a spiritual settlement that keeps growing, even with Jeffs facing prison time.
The compound, with religious ties to Warren Jeffs, is leaving an ever-growing footprint in the foothills of Custer County. The church members who live here keep adding new buildings to their secluded site. The latest addition, according to Custer County Sheriff Rick Wheeler, is a dairy barn and other out-buildings. Members have also been required to build a private access road as part of the permitting process.
Excerpted, read the rest here.
Just wondering how she was able to escape.

There is an underground railroad of sorts for these women. Several who have left (or been ex’d) are still in contact with a few of the women. There is at least one woman who stays out of fear but helps others escape.
There are safe-houses in several states as well.
However, it is really hard for a woman to get their hands on a vehicle (if they can drive at all only a few of the older ones can) and even harder to leave with their children.
Most sneak out in the middle of the night, at risk of their lives, to a meeting area where they are picked up then delivered to a safe house.
If a woman is sealed to a man and he dies, and she marries his son(Jeffs) then who gets her in Heaven? This is all too creepy for me.

Usually the first husband (unless he is excommunicated) is married for eternity, the second marriages are ‘for time only’. But that may vary from group to group, I’m not 100% sure.
They just signed up to do a movie based on “Under the Banner of Heaven” which will cover polygamy and blood atonement.
I have also heard that they have (or will) do a movie based on “Wife no. 19”.
I believe this is the new ‘re-education’ camp. People in the know are very concerned about this compound because there is no information coming out about it through the members.
I know when the first got there, the sheriff parked his RV across from the entrance to keep an eye on them.
Bottom line....God says there are no marriages in heaven. So all their twisting and turning will be for nothing....IF they even make it to heaven.
