A license to carry would have been very helpful.
Unfortunately even with a permit, it’s hard to conceal a shotgun. I’d rather have open carry and elect to carry a shotgun.
In a racial hatred mob like the one described in this article I say the heck with any license. As the old saying goes, I'd rather be judged by twelve than carried by six. I'm all for peace and love thy neighbor but when you are trying to harm me or my family just because of our skin color then all bets are off.

The question is, IF you are attacked by a bunch of Amish kids, Brittish soccer Hooligans or a bunch of Milwaukee black yuth, do you have the option to shoot their sorry asses if you feel your life threatened?
Here in Florida we have the Castle law which gives you the right to self defense. And yes I most probaably would shoot and reload and shoot some more.
Yup. Just the sight of a firearm would have convinced them that the black on your gun extended all the way up your arm and over your body.

Just a few armed citizens could have easily defused that situation. If the "youths" had known that armed, White citizens were likely to be encountered, they'd have figured out something else to do that evening. Instead, they knew citizens would disarm and become slaves for the evening so as to attend the fair. Here we have the results.
