(CNSNews.com) - House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) is predicting that the $2.4 trillion that Congress has now added to the limit on the federal credit card--by increasing the legal debt limit--will be exhausted by the Treasury in only 18 months.

She is probably right, but I think the gov't will spend it even faster.
Government raising the government debt ceiling is like an alcoholic going on one more drinking binge, but TOMORROW I'll go cold turkey. Promise.
We all know how it will turn out.
We will go through the same thing again in 18 months, if not sooner.

You are so right. The country club republican party is such a joke! I think that everyone that voted for the debt ceiling increase should automatically contribute 50% of their net worth to the cause of the increase, just for starters. If it were really THEIR money the increase wouldn't got a single vote!
Didn't I just read an article that the net worth of our politicians had gone up some 366%? Why do they care what happens to the WORKING families?

Given 1% growth and the subsequent need for another debt ceiling crisis in June 2012, I predict a bloody fiscal fight just before the elections. Did Boehner secretly calculate this? No way. But this will be very interesting if it happens.

What Nancy is not thinking about "IS"..
After Nov. 2012 THEN... we can start eliminating many federal bureaucracies.. which will make much more money available for the other federal agencies.. less taxation will be needed(eventually)..
AND... massive fraud by citizens and contractors can be plugged up..
When the federal government becomes much SMALLER.. less money will needed to run it..
Start by eliminating much of what Obama and George Bush did to increase the federal government... and reduce the size of other agencys..
Changing whole amendments(annulling) to the Constitution may have to wait for 2016..
