Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch snagged a high-profile endorsement for his re-election campaign that will surely help him with Tea Party voters in his state.
Fox News commentator Sean Hannity on Tuesday endorsed the Republican Senator on his radio show.
“I’m not sure if Clarence Thomas would be on the bench today but for you,” Hannity said, according to audio released by the Hatch campaign.
“I don’t think guys like John Roberts and Sam Alito would be there either,” he continued. “All the times you have been fighting for these Balanced Budgets over the years … what you’ve done for the Supreme Court which is impacting this country literally now for generations and decades…is why I’ve endorsed you for your race in the Senate.”

This isn’t Hatch’s first big radio endorsement. Mark Levin, another well-known voice, has also offered the Utahan his support.

Hatch, the old RINO, needs to spend more time with his family.
There is a young congressman who sleeps in his office who is making noises about challenging him. His name starts with a “C”, but I can’t remember it.

Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah has done everything he can to escape the fate of Republicans who lost primaries to the Tea Party in 2010. Despite working on improving his relationship with Tea Party and fiscal conservative groups in the past year, the alarm has been sounded and Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, appears to be making steps toward an announcement sometime after Labor Day.
“If it was just about taking the path of least resistance, I would just stay in the House,” Chaffetz told ABC News. “But that’s not necessarily where I am headed. I don’t know. I haven’t made a final decision, but I’m trying to be as candid as I can, saying I moved from being a definite maybe to probably.”
For an unannounced candidate, he has absolutely no hesitation taking on his potential intraparty rival. If or when Chaffetz gets in, it’s sure to be one of the most contentious primary fights in Congress.
“I don’t know that 42 contiguous years in the bubble in the U.S. Senate is healthy for anyone,” Chaffetz said. “I think people are ready for a change. And second to that is I just disagree with him on a lot of very important issues.
“Part of the reason we are in this debt crisis is because 26 times Sen. Hatch had an opportunity to vote no and he voted yes to raise the debt ceiling,” he added. “Sixteen times a direct vote for yes, and 10 times allowed unanimous consent for an increase in the debt ceiling. That’s why, in part, we are in this mess.”

Didn’t Hatch vote no on the budget deal? I think he even had some forceful words against it. My first thought was that he only took this stance because he knows he is in danger of losing his seat; otherwise, he would have been a yes vote.
Excellent, thanks. Chaffetz was one of the few debt deal “No” votes. Maybe some certain commentators can reconsider who they are indorsing instead of doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results.
Mark Levin has also endorsed him.

Conservative talk radio show host Mark Levin is not pleased that the Tea Party-aligned group FreedomWorks plans to launch a “Retire Orrin Hatch” campaign this weekend.
The Daily Caller reported Thursday that the organization hopes to target Utah Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch and eventually get behind another Republican candidate in the 2012 Senate race.
But earlier this week, Levin offered his support to Hatch on his radio show. In a Facebook note, he criticized FreedomWorks, chaired by former Republican leader Dick Armey, and suggested the group is not always in tune with Tea Party voters.
“This is what happens when decisions are run out of offices in Washington,” Levin wrote. “The Tea Party movement is a grassroots movement.”
He continued: “And as I posted earlier today, Armey had a radical, open-borders, pro-amnesty position record in Congress and has recently endorsed that position as head of FreedomWorks. Do most Tea Party activists agree? Of course not.”
On his radio show this week, Levin told Hatch, “It would be a sad place in the Senate if we knocked you off in the Republican system in Utah.”

Hannity never confronts people who vote against conservative principles he just tosses them softballs and lets them off the hook. That is why they come on his show so often. He’s a tool.
Levin lost me a while back on this type of stuff, wasnt RINO Hatch for Bush/McCain anmesty? I dont see what Freedom works opposition to Hatch has to do with Levin endorsing Hatch unless Hatch stood up against amnesty himself.
This may be disturbing to purists.
