“I don’t know about your house, but at my house when our credit card bills are up we don’t go out and spend money. We don’t pat ourselves on the back and talk about how heroic we are as we poo poo away our children’s college savings. We don’t hide from each other what we’ve purchased that day (i.e., gang on 6). We don’t act like its our right to go out and spend spend spend and blame the bank for our overindulgence. We limit our spending to bare necessities only.”

The problem with your analogy is that presumably everyone in your household is in agreement and working towards the same goal. That clearly is not the case here. The democrats have the senate and the white house and do not want what we want. That makes it more difficult to get everything done that you want to accomplish.

So the role of the GOP is to abide by what the white house dictates? I thought their role was to do the will of the people that elected them. Silly me.

The folks at PowerLine had a great quote from Churchill in an article recently saying:

When Lord Halifax and a handful of other influential members of the war cabinet were building support to seek peace terms with Hitler through the Italians, Churchill reminded them that “nations which went down fighting rose again, but those which surrendered tamely were finished.” The same may be said for the Republican Party today; if it surrenders to Obama, it may as well pack it in for good.
