WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Obama administration on Monday sued to block enforcement of Alabama's new immigration law, widely considered to be the toughest measure in the United States to try to crack down on illegal immigrants.
The law, known as H.B. 56, was signed by Republican Governor Robert Bentley in June and is due to take effect on September 1. Civil rights groups brought a separate lawsuit challenging the law about a month ago.

There are also a lot of religious organizations in AL coming out against this bill. I came across a story a few weeks ago about this particular group based out of Birmingham. Sorry, I can’t remember the name of the group. This group’s website said they were dedicated to social justice. I know that comes as no shock to people here on FR, though.
we’ll see
How many states are being sued by the feds now?
..should be all 57...*smiles*
One of the goals of marxism is open borders in order to destroy a country financially and destroy patriotism. An army cannot defeat the US but enemies within can.
Overturning the rule of law; flooding the country with illegals; releasing criminals; pitting one group against another; stoking the unions into thug tactics.....
This is standard DESTABILIZATION (the 2nd phase of Communist takeover). The 1st phase is DEMORALIZATION (where you ‘educate’ citizens to accept this nonsense and stop fighting back b/c they’ve lost any moral compass).

It’s time to introduce articles of impeachment in the House of Representatives. All of these people that are involved with this frivolous lawsuit work for Obama. Impeach the President of the United States now!

“Noli me tangere.”
Obama _ the enemy of the state.
I live in NJ, and my children have never seen a Union flag on our house, my car, my clothes, etc.
I’m a white male - today’s enemy of the state.
there will soon be bloodshed.
I believe that. Unfortunately there are still Americans that are “asleep”. They need to wake soon or it’s lost.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, nothing less than a total removal of every politician in Washington DC will eliminate the problem. I honestly don’t know if 2012 can get here soon enough to stop the destruction of our beloved USA at the hands of a confessed marxist.
This area is going to grow like wildfire once this Bozo is out of office.Hate to see it but seen it coming for a long time.Covington County.I don’t think there are a handfull of Dems left down here now.180 out from just 10-20 years ago.
He needs those undocumented democrats to win in 2012 and he KNOWS it. His numbers are tanking.
Alabama's new law cracking down on illegal immigrants will likely survive legal challenges from advocacy groups that say it is unconstitutional and racist, analysts told Fox News. The law, which takes effect Sept. 1, empowers police to arrest people suspected of being an illegal immigrant if they are stopped for another reason and requires businesses and schools to verify whether workers and students are in the country lawfully. It also makes it a crime to knowingly transport or shelter illegal immigrants.
As soon as Republican Gov. Robert Bentley signed the bill into law Thursday, the ACLU and Southern Poverty Law Center were vowing to defeat it in court. "It is clearly unconstitutional. It's mean-spirited, racist, and we think a court will enjoin it," said Mary Bauer, legal director for the Southern Poverty Law Center. "By signing this bill into law, Gov. Bentley has codified official discrimination in the state of Alabama," said Cecillia Wang, director of the ACLU Immigrants' Rights Project. "We will take action to keep this law from going into effect to ensure that the civil rights and liberties of all Alabamans are protected."
Legal experts told Fox News that they expect the case to head to the Supreme Court where they believe the state will prevail. "I think the states have the right to do this," said Jay Sekulow, chief counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice. "I think it will be successful." (Excerpt) Read more at foxnews.com ..
