(Reuters) - Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid will support the tentative debt-ceiling deal as long as other Democrats back it as well, a spokesman said on Sunday.

I’m taking bets on Harry winning the Portrait in Courage award.
Reid has caved. Let’s see if Obama will.
Where’s DeMint with the filibuster he promised?
Oh...he was only kidding? Never mind, then.
What would that number equal?
$50 trillion?
Second time DeMint does that
On What?
This tells me that both DeMint and Paul know the bill is dead, and they can save some political capital in the process.
Of course, I could be wrong, but even Dingy Harry is backing away from his own bill.
They didn’t need to filibuster. Reid’s bill was defeated outright.
The state run liberal “media” are still trying to make their boy, Stinky Harry, appear to be relevant. Once this is all said and done, expect Stinky’s toadies in the “media” to trumpet how “lucky” America is that the commie union thugs and freeloading illegal aliens sent Stinky back to the Senate.
> Ronald Reagans First Term $656 billion increase
> Ronald Reagans Second Term $1.036 trillion increase
> George H.W. Bushs Term $1.587 trillion increase
> Bill Clintons First Term $1.122 trillion increase
> Bill Clintons Second Term $418 billion increase
> George W. Bushs First Term $1.885 trillion increase
> George W. Bushs Second Term $3.014 trillion increase
> Barack Obamas First Year $1.573 trillion increase - on line (and about to receive clearance to go over $7Trillion in ONE TERM).
Now that is REAL leadership. “I support it... maybe... maybe not.”
Obama already caved. Reid is just taking his cue.
Reid is the caviest of all cave-men.
>> Obama already caved. Reid is just taking his cue.
They’re not caving, it’s a calculation for 2012.
The GOP essentially capitulated.
The negativity is astounding here. You don’t turn the Titanic on a dime.
No new taxes and a reasonable path to continue the turn is what is needed.
Hopefully no triggers to tempt Democrats to decimate Defense. If that is avoided then this is going to be a major change in the tide.
Some folks don’t seem capable of noticing. With control of only one of three levers, that is an impressive victory for the Republic.
To bad they couldn't,it was unsinkable after all.
... the proposal calls for severe across-the-board cuts as the action-forcing device - cuts affecting Democratic domestic priorities, including Medicare, but also about 50 percent would come from defense spending, which is a major priority for many Republicans.
Considering that defense is only 20% of the budget, with 80% being everything else, this means draconian cuts from defense and trivial amounts from everything else.
Reid and Obama are getting everything they want. They are now negotiating between two bills that they wrote, though one of bills has Boehner’s name on it.
