But once again, what actually happened? NO BILL that Boehner could pass through the House was going to pass through the Senate. It is either stalemate or the dems “win”.

If it was stalemate then you and I know the dems, Obama and the driveby’s will have a hammer they will use to blame conservatives with every day until the election. A stalemate will actually hurt us.

The issue is we only control one side in Congress and we NEED both to effect chance that will improve things. Better yet, both sides and the White House. But that is only a wish for us because right now we DO NOT.

Sure, I admire and support the TEA party firebrands in the House and like Recovering Ex-Hippie said, their fighting for us is keeping the whole thing on the front burner where EVERYONE can see it, even those who usually don't pay attention to this stuff.

But let's stop calling Boehner “Boner” and a cry baby and a terrible Speaker because his job is to see the legislation passed out of the House is going to be seen as favorable to the people, even if it's DOA because of the dems. Right now the Drvieby’s are trying their hardest to paint him and the Republicans as no compromising ideologues who are hurting the country. Meanwhile, FReepers are calling him a RINO and a closet dem because he trying to limit the damage, knowing full well anything the House does will be spiked. It's a no win situation. We need to see that because it is the truth. Conservatives are supposed to think things through and not emote like democrats!

No matter what is passed in the House Harry Reid is not going to let it get a vote if it looks good for “our side”. Now I think our side is RIGHT on economic matters and their side is dead wrong.

Their side is plunging us in deeper. By next year it will not only be truly apparent (and I really do think it is almost there in most thinking people's minds) but now their side, Obama and Reid own it lock, stock and barrel. They won this fight. The TEA Party is wrong, the driveby and dems keep telling us. The President “has a plan”.

But it is all bull $hit. It isn't going to work. Their victory is really a hole they can't stop digging. And by “defeating” us it puts us in a prime spot coming up next election. This could in fact, hurt the Lefts chances for a decade or more because they are so oblivious to how they are killing the economy.

The increasing emotionalism on this board and on others, such as Ace of Spades (not known for being a stopping-off-place for liberals) gives me great concern.

Either the emotionalism of the liberals has infected all public discourse, or the left is infiltrating and playing disruption.

We need to think about these things calmly and rationally. When emotions override everything, giant mistakes get made (example: the funding for Katrina relief).

Bret Baier just asked Durbin why the Senate hasn’t passed a budget, and Durbin replied “sixty votes.”

Translation: it’s still the Republicans’ fault!!

You are probably right but I hate compromise with the left it always means we lose. I understand we only control one house and since that's the case we create a huge game of Mexicon standoff and looks as if we are loosing it. Making your argument A CNN poll has us,our side, as the cause of no debt ceiling agreement. It's biased I know but could be harmful.

After listening to Plouffe and DNC Dave here is approximately where we are.

The deal appears to be stacking up more or less like this. Initially, there will be a billion dollar deal, over ten years which means little or nada budget cuts first year, and then a super bi--partisan committee that will decide how the next 1.8 trillion will be cut,and we already know how god that works just having the experience, or automatic cuts come into play when the left is finally out of office.

Were we played again? Certainly looks like it to me.

Ploouffe and DNC Dave both played up the 60 hours until we suffer a financial collapse, such a huge lie I won't even go into it,repeat the lie and then continue with the usual class warfare we need, taxes not cuts etc. We really wanted 4 trillion but Boehner would not allow us to.... etc etc. Just more reasons why we need regime change in 2012.

Rush will probably say tomorrow we should have stood our ground since these guys don't have to guts to put a budget, debt ceiling or anything in print in black and white on paper and we will get the blame for anything that goes wrong anyway so why not stand tall.

The final bill awaits to be seen.

I just hope we don't pay a price for not standing up for the Penny, one cent plan which is the right way to go.

Thanks for the pep talk. Your insights are valuable. Boehner worked really hard to get something in writing over to the Senate Chamber. That was a great accomplishment. We know that the numbers and words don’t really have any force - going forward ten years. God only knows what the USA and the world will be experiencing in 2021, and I am positive that no one in Congress or the White House even has a clue!

Re the above. Two reasons for this, “A” is those here who are behaving as you say are purely stupid (as opposed to being ignorant of the facts) and cannot comprehend the reality of the situation, or “B” they are liberal plants here and I do not care HOW long they have been registered.

Take your pick, either A or B and there is no C.
