See my number 17 right above!
That’s why this is the only thread I appear on. :-)
Mornin’ AB. Still hoping the GOP does not cave. Bambi is a moron, inexperienced,, terrible negotiator, BUT he seems to be getting everything he wants: raise debt limit, kick budget can past 2012 election and Christmas (his new found holiday), crush Tea Party, crush Boehner and McConnell, lock in “fact” that all our trouble are Bush’s fault and legacy. Absolutely amazing!
I agree with you....
The numbers are already going down for Obozo...He has lost in popularity, and his numbers of black voters has dropped 20 points in these last two weeks!
The populace has seen this and heard this for weeks now, and they are getting educated in a way that the Media would have never let conservatives just ‘explain” our position. It IS working.
Be prepared to get flamed though and called a Lib and a RHINO and a troll!ha.
My take on the last few weeks is that without the tea party the debt limit increase would have been passed without any attempt to rein in spending.
I see your point.
Its sad that it gets to that on Freep. It kills any real ‘discussion “ of different views of the subject among conservatives on tactics.
I absolutely agree with you. One thing I know is that the democrats ALWAYS overreach and end up turning off the public.
Last night Herbert Bloom, some sort of democrat economist, showed up on coast to Coast AM to “tell us what to think about the financial crisis.” Rather than drifting off to sleep I listened.
After hearing that Hillary had him give a colloquium for state department employees, I knew I was in for some good GOP trashing.
First, we had to hear about his very rich friend who has racehorses and show dogs and took him to eat in a fancy private club in New York founded by Alexander Hamilton wherre you got your own private waiter! How rich is that guy!!
THEN, he told us how this, THIS type of guy got the Bush tax cuts! Then he pointed out how even Reagan raised taxes! And then, we had to hear about how Bush 43 was a moron and his father had at least 20 IQ points on him, because Bush 43 had the sense to raise taxes.
Obvious propaganda for the overnight listeners. I shut the darn radio off and said a Rosary.
The big fear is that S&P and Moodys will take away our coveted AAA bond rating. They are asking for 4 trillion in cuts over ten years which means in actuality 400 billion in year 1 since budget cuts don't transfer from Congress to Congress the way taxation does.
S&P and Moodys have no doubt noticed that we take in roughly 200 billion per month yet manage to spend 300,not a healthy situation for would be AAA bond purveyors.
What they are really asking is that we shed 400 billion of that overspending a year which is 35 billion per month or roughly 1/3 of our deficit spending. A truly rational request that any rating agency would ask from any debtor.
What do we do in response to the debt assesor's request? Little or nothing. Boners first salvo was next to nothing in the first year and my guess is the compromises will be somewhat less than the 400 billion that the rating agencies are looking for.
We have a colossal failure of government to do the right thing more more time..
I've got this pitchfork they can have......and some dense, malleable mineral....
What they can’t blame on Bush, they blame on the evil Tea Party.
lol
Just this morning on F&F, the talkingpoint of one of the guests was about ‘the Tea Party’ holding America hostage by them not approving Reid’s plan.
[Tea Party has done a lot of damage — to the political establishment. I hope we see another great flushing in 2012.]
Great catch on the inflation scenario maica! Just fill er up or go to the grocery store and tell me we have no inflation! Yeah riggghhhttt!
You are so correct on how this "crisis" should be handled - but which is now looking more and more like another Liberal home run. I fear what we are seeing is only another round of Lucy, Charlie Brown, and the football.
The American People see the fraud for what it is but the "leaders" of the Gutless Old Party in Washington can't seem to shake their old habits of folding their winning hand of a royal flush to three sixes.
As Casey Stengel once remarked in disgust to his hapless Mets, "Can't anybody here play this game?"...
OMG just too good!!!
For the mushy middle who won't take sides, this is a huge issue that will kill the dems come next November. People will think: “OK, they won, they said the TEA party are terrorists (even though I agree that spending is out of control and needs to be cut), holding back the economy and all. The “News” says if we only let the President lead us out of this mess things will get better. Even though I'm not sure, since I am a independent I'll bite my tongue and wait and see....”
Six months later... “Where's the improvement? What, things are continuing to get worse? I thought the President was going to make things better when the evil TEA partiers and Republicans were put in their place????? WHY are they getting WORSE?”
Come November, 2012... "No, I am not better off then I was 4 years ago!" (pulls lever for Sarah and Republican senator and House candidates, governor, state reps, etc, etc.....)
Happy Sunday, my FRiends...Friend Gretchen Carlson just grilled Garamendi (D-CA) asking just what Barry’s plan was and he said that Barry is SOOOOOOOO engaged, more engaged than any president ever. Ever!
