It’s too late for any other ploys.Reid will develop a bill,pass it,and dare Republicans to vote against it.The idea that the Tea Party could force a 40% reduction in spending by halting the debt ceiling was not even a chimera.It was a fantasy. They didn’t understand that or more probably didn’t care.The GOP is fractured and may not be reparable. One thing is true. The Dems will spend every dime of the new ceiling and the 47% who pay no tax will love it and enough progressives are taxpayers to claim a majority for years. Tonight may see Carville’s prediction of a 40 year reign of power come true.
