A Facebook page matching his name and the photo given out by the police was set up just a few days ago. It listed his religion as Christian, politics as conservative.

I think we need to keep in mind that Facebook pages depicting attractive 14 year old girls are set up by Federal Agents thirty or forty years old to catch child molesters with amazing regularity.

Little on the social media internet can be taken at face value without verification.

By his actions, I'm not seeing anything that flanges up with "Christian".

Agreed. But the question I was addressing was why they said Christian and right-wing, not whether it is true.
