Now paging Ranya Bardiwell and Phil Carson....

I wouldn't put it past the globalists to pull a stunt like the stadium shooting in your first book in order to get global gun control on the fast track since the US Senate has been most uncooperative in that arena as of yesterday it seems...

The UN Global Gun Control treaty will pass or fail with or without the help of the U.S. Senate. It will likely now pass the U.N. on a fast track basis with this massacre that just happened in Norway. And pass with severe restritions on private gun ownership for any nation that adopts this treaty.

However, like you alluded to, yesterday, 51 U.S. Senators pledged not to ratify any UN Small Arms/Gun Control Treaty that has any provisions that effect private ownership of firearms.

U.S. Senate Stands with NRA in Strongly Opposing U.N Gun Control Efforts

For any UN Small Arms/Gun Control Treaty to take any effect or become the law in the United States, it must be ratified by the U.S. Senate and ratification for any treaty requires the votes of 2/3 of the Senate or 67 Senators to approve the treaty, per the U.S. Constitution. That is not taking into effect any court challenges against this treaty challenging the constitutionality of this treaty as to it's effect on the 2nd amendment.

Right now, 51 Senators are publicly on board as opposing any UN Treaty that adversly effects the 2nd Amendment or civilian ownership of small arms, well short of the 67 required for any UN Treaty to become law here. So the UN can pass any gun control treaty they wish, it will have no effect on civilian gun owners within the United States unless it is ratified by the U.S. Senate.

Just like the Kyoto treaty, it will not become law here unless it is ratified by the Senate. A few of those 51 Senators may go wobbly because of the Norway tragedy, but there will still be over 40 who will never ratify this treaty, more than enough to stop this UN treaty from becoming law here.

I too have read all three books of Travis' (Matt's) 'Enemies, Foreign and Domestic' series. I do not feel that this tragedy will have any serious consequences on domestic U.S. Gun Laws, since it happened overseas. If it happened here on U.S. Soil, who knows.

Obama and his ilk may try some more administrative gun control actions, but I do not forsee any new gun control laws coming out of either house of Congress over this. Heck, in light of 'Fast and Furious/Gunwalker', if Obama and his ilk to try to enact more gun control via exexutive order, they will have to answer to an angry and sceptical Congress.

This Norwegian massacre will certainly hearten the gun grabbers in this country to step up their efforts, but will have no effect on this congress.

I agree. But it will be used by the enemie of freedom as one more stock talking point against gun freedom. It will also be used by the TSA/DHS as an excuse for more random searches of all people.
