Well this is it folks.. It has been a fun ride.
It is a shame that I didn't get to see those birds launch in person. Oh well should have moved to Florida.

I have watched all the Apollo shots and landings. I have watched many of the Shuttle launches and landings. And this is the first time I’ve ever cried. Hell...I didn’t even cry when we lost Challenger and Columbia..not because I was cold-hearted, but because I was too numb.
I have the realization that I may never experience the majesty and excitement of a space launch in my lifetime. My kids will never have their imaginations sparked by manned space flight.
I feel old today.

Aloha Leo!
I'd have loved a flyby but at the same time watched it with a tear in my eye. They're talking about museum attractions now, Robert. How short sighted is that?

"[snip] In a speech given by President Barack Obama, in April of 2010 at Kennedy Space Center, his cavalier declaration that continued manned space exploration was unnecessary a weve been there, done that attitude shocked and outraged those whove spent lifetimes working towards reaching for greatness in the stars... A thought-provoking film that sheds light on the alarming end of the US manned space program, I couldnt help but wonder what the consequences of our current administrations troubling lack of foresight regarding space exploration and its implication for future generations. [/snip]"
Obama must be orgasmic. The ending of an American dream is a huge step toward his remaking of America into a "workers paradise" which is focused on redistribution, dependency and making the US subservient to a dream of an Islamic socialist world.

Probably the most remembered part of Obamas failed legacy will be his cancellation of Americas space explorations plans.
No bucks, no Buck Rogers.
And I guess we might as well cancel all future Star Trek movies since Obama says it a waste of time and money.
And it offends Allah.

Back when I would do sales calls to the Cape, the whole area was bustling with business. When I was over there several months back, huge corporate buildings associated with the space program, were closed and shuttered! Sad to see....

One tiny sweet (and predictable) consolation was the last minute shuttle Endeavor launch delay April 29 as Obama was flying in with his brood to watch it.

Here is hoping that Sarah Palin when elected at the VERY least authorizes funding for an expanded addition to the Cape for a museum concerning the space shuttles.
Something as good or better than the Saturn 5 display which to me was the kick of the lifetime walking under it.

There should be a lot of Obama tombstones appearing soon.
Socialism mandates equal misery for all apparently.

Bittersweet day. Glad to see them home safe, sad to see our government abandon the human aspiration that was space travel.

Obama has created an alternate history offramp to no where.
All those movies from years past like 2001, Space 1999, Mission to Mars and of course anything even remotely close to an intial start such as Star Trek has in effect been canceled much as if he has gone back in time and killed all the ideas, the aspirations and future of space for America.
Islam is happy now I would venture to say.

Geez Louise, Eye, we don't need another museum. We need a challage.....a goal to achieve .
Your good intentions well taken (no harm, no foul) but celebrating aviation and space travel in a museum isn't something to look forward to.

And he makes no effort to even recognize this event. The punk president is smart enough to know any recognition would tie his ass to end of our manned space program. The socialist is doing everything he can to avoid adverse campaign ads next year too.
