I don’t think Palin has ever hired or rented security. At Pella the organizers engaged a security company. Palin didn’t bother with them, arriving in town in a rented car unbeknownst to the security team. They did provide protection after she arrived during the movie and barbeque.

I used to get bad migraines; accidentally found out it was from eating chocolate, shellfish, and aged cheese. Theobromine narrowed the veins in my head. I laid off those things for over 5 yrs. Really, after a couple of weeks off them, the migraines went away completely. I’m still off shellfish completely, aged cheese for the most part, can have a little chocolate from time to time. I reckon I got the theobromine cleared out of my system during the initial 5 yrs. or so off those foods. Whew. No food is worth how those headaches hurt!

Yes they are afraid of Bachmann because she is a true conservative and has been since before 2008 as your preferred non candidate is. Bachmann has been more than talk, but is a conservative in action. That is why they want to get rid of her. She was not a McCain or Carly backer either. She also disagrees with John McCain on immigration. She has gained traction and that is why they want her gone.

Correct. He did, but he specifically requested it.

The Secret Service said Thursday that Sen. Barack Obama was being placed under their protection, the earliest ever for a presidential candidate.

Secret Service spokesman Eric Zahren said Department of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff authorized Obama’s protection after consultations with the congressional advisory committee.

Officials said Obama had requested the protection. Such requests are then sent to the congressional panel for approval or rejection.

The above is from an article dated 5/3/2007. Obama declared in February 2007. He was nominated by the Dems in late August 2008. So he had SS protection for over a year.
