In late July 2010, Rep. Michele Bachmanns then-communications director, Dave Dziok, told his boss that he planned to take a new job with the public relations firm Edelman.
Dziok had worked for Bachmann for two and a half years, a relatively long period by the standards of her office, and was leaving on good terms.
Staff turnover can frustrate any employer, but Bachmann responded more dramatically. Dzioks departure triggered a debilitating medical episode that landed the congresswoman in urgent care.
Within 24 hours she was in the hospital, a former aide says.
Bachmann was admitted to a Washington, D.C. hospital on Friday, July 30, and released that same day. She flew home to Minnesota to recuperate, missing a scheduled campaign event with Sen. Roy Blunt.

How do you tell when you're on the right target?
That's where the flak is heaviest.
First of all.... is this true? If it is true, it is not smearing. It is not trashing.... it is disturbing that if it is true that Bachmann would even dream of running for President. Are you kidding?
Migraines bad enough to end up in the hospital? that cause her to be hours late for engagements? that she might be taking some pretty strong drugs to help counter the pain?
WTF are you thinking if you think this is ok?
Daily Caller put this story out. Now lets have some investigation to find out if it is true. If it is true, Bachmann is out... gone... done... if true, how the hell did she think she could not have this come out?
First Palin, now Bachmann - looks like the Democrats are afraid of women.
Im curious....this is for the moderator
Will the forum allow the same sort of onslaught on Sarah should she announce like is tolerated against Bachmann
LAZLO IS THE ONE WHO POSTED THIS. Don't even try to make that case on this particular thread.
A I recall....Pissant....a veteran freeper finally wore out his welcome here doing this to Sarah
Pissant took it over the top. Plenty of folks still oppose Palin on FR, and plenty of folks oppose Bachmann. Make your case either way within the guidelines of FR. Primaries are meant to be rough-and-tumble.
There are a lot of “if’s” in your post.
Indeed, if the libtards hate a candidate, she/he must be saying and doing the right things!
Don’t worry, they’ll start in on Perry soon. The closer he comes to announcing, the more poison that will be spread.
He’s been a good governor and I’d hate to lose him here. :)
Did anyone ever even THINK of asking Michele Bachman herself before starting rumors about her health?
Oh....libtards....never mind. Never ask when a rumor does a better job of smearing a candidate.
Interesting.
“How puckish of you”
Just good horse sense. LOL!!
This is old news.
It is my understanding that when the migraines hit, she can take the medicine without being prompted by her tele.
They are going to make sure no real conservative ends up in this race.
They did it last time, and they will this time. You will get a globalist, illegal pandering person as the nominee.
But you may not know it until after all is said and done.
Perhaps Michele could taking up golfing 3 times a week like Obama does.
What? Obama stressed? Nah
I am not so sure from Romney.
Believe me, I am no political prognosticator, but I think the only way Romney can win, is to promise that he will pick a strong conservative as his running mate.
I don’t think Palin would accept the VP slot, so Bachmann as a Conservative and as a woman would be a powerful choice.
However, I am usually wrong.
What I find interesting is how many are pointing their fingers here at RINO Romney as the source of this story.
Bachmann has traditionally been viewed by many at FR as a stalking horse for Romney, i.e. she’s been running for Romney’s Veep slot by trying to prevent Pawlenty from becoming the nominee. Her squishiness during the first debate (refusing to criticize Romneycare) reinforced that view.
Regardless, when it comes to motive, Pawlenty gains the most
True, that.
If (and again, that's a big IF) Bachmann suffers from migranes severe enough to literally incapacitate her, even infrequently, then she has no business running for President.
While I'm admittedly not a fan of her running for President, I don't think she would be so irresponsible to do so with such a known medical condition. Therefore, the most logical explanation is that the allegations are at least exaggerated.
I didn’t say they were, I meant that Romney’s camp is probably behind a lot of these hit pieces. Romney did that to Palin during the last election.
I don’t trust Romney or any one associated with him, and for good reason.
Maybe Mitty has borrowed the Clinton’s vaunted PI squad?
Pawlenty gains nothing - his lack of charisma hurts him which makes his fundraising bleak (now he is trying to follow Palin with a bus tour of Iowa)
And I thought Ed Rollins was the King of Dirty Tricks. Better this comes out now than later I guess.
