The news and blogosphere is filled with responses to the July 14, 2011 story by Joshua Green, the Senior Editor of the Atlantic, entitled "Michele Bachmann's Church Says the Pope Is the Antichrist." That is because it raises a serious matter which should not be taken lightly, and one which the candidate must address. First, let me share some personal context. I am what is often called a "revert" to the Catholic Church, someone who returned to the Church of my childhood after a long search for the truth. I love being a Catholic Christian. I hold an undergraduate degree and a master's degree in Catholic theology. I am a dissertation away from obtaining a PhD in Catholic Moral Theology. I am also a member of the Clergy, a Deacon. However, I write this article as a private and very concerned citizen.

I don’t care who thinks the Pope is the anti-Christ or a potted plant. I want to know who will repeal Obamacare, repeal the 16th amendment, appoint originalist judges, shut the border, etc.

I never said or implied that salvation was a process. AGAIN — justification occurs once. I have said so ad nauseum. Time to move on, I think. Sanctification IS a process. ‘Nuff said.
“Well, then if you are justified once before God, you are saved (Eph.4:30).
Christian growth is a different issue and has nothing to do with salvation.”
AGAIN - which I have said....ad nauseum.
I came to this view years ago, listening to Jimmy Carter and other babykillers say, “I’m personally opposed...” They should have been laughed at. What matters is What will you do in office? not What are your inner thoughts?
this is nonsense.
The “pope is the antichrist” meme of that branch of the Lutheran church is considered a joke in Minnesota.
And actually, at the time that Luthur said it, there had been a lot of popes who were pretty rotten...
Sadly, you are correct. I worry about Evangelicals staying home on election day or even worse voting for Obama should Romney be a candidate. Some people manage to make the acceptable or better the enemy of the ideal. Romney has a lot of flaws but is far superior to Obama.
As is very typical you, this is nothing original, but has been tried before, and others who have hypocritically tried to impugn the credibility of my stats (http://www.peacebyjesus.com/RC-Stats_vs._Evang.html) were shown to be wrong.
While you brazenly infer that i am lying with stats, Catholic sources themselves reference polls which i do, as valid, in seeking to sound an alarm. And RC apologists also use stats when it favors Rome, without being questioned or charged with manipulation by their own (though they were shown by others to have engaged in misrepresentation)
As for the book, in my case such a book can actually validate my use of stats, some of which come from Catholic-commissioned surveys, as it not manipulative use of misleading questions that testifies to the inferior state of RCs, but the censuses of what survey after survey have shown, without any real contradiction. And when i found significant variance in response to the issue of the nature of the Eucharist, i included them.
Moreover, while the statistics show a superior degree of conservative views and unity and of commitment among evangelicals, they as well as a linked supplementary work also testify to the declension of the evangelical church, as the positive number should be much higher.
Thus your inference is due to your myopic cult-like commitment to defend Rome, and is at odds with more objective and far more official RC organs, who rather than place their head in the sand, admit the declension of Rome, and which is also happening in evangelical faith, as prophesied. (2Thes. 2:3) In fact, one RC here responded to the statical testimony of the inferior spiritual condition of RCs by using it to affirm that Rome is the OTC, based upon that prediction!
Not an original thought in his brain, dan.
He’s just ticked because he got showed up with that first.
Thanks for your great post. There is NO revival that is going to happen in the last days of the Church the Body of Christ. There is a falling away. It is evident both in God’s Word and in everything around us. To look for some great spiritual awakening is to ignore what God plainly said. The result of which will be to swept up into false teachings, false signs and wonders and false prophets preaching another Jesus.
Perhaps you are forgetting the evolving mores . . .
. . . “values” . . .
‘If the MSM doesnt say it—it can’t be true.’
‘If a Proddy says it—it has to be declared untrue.’
‘If a Proddy Pentecostal END TIMES believing, conservative anti-Marxist says it—it MOST DEFINITELY CAN’T BE TRUE.’
The Vatican Cult Ishtar-Goddes figure has her standards, ya know.
This is the era of rabbit hole realities.
Good is labeled evil.
Evil is labeled good.
Blindness is labeled enlightenment.
Studied enlightenment is labeled insanity.
Decades of expertise is trashed as ignorance.
Ignorance is exalted as superior knowledge.
Welcome to the Biblically predicted END TIMES.
ABSOLUTELY INDEED.
You said, and I agree,
Welcome to the Biblically predicted END TIMES.
Well, it was not the first mom, but i am not going digging now.
Yet we must try. I like http://www.lineoffireradio.com/
"(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) 2 Cor. 6:2.
Amen and absolutely, Daniel! Until the day we are taken, we are to preach the gospel.
I believe there WILL be one last world wide revival . . . when the birth pangs become severe enough . . .
and
THEN
a great falling away.
Some areas are experiencing great revival now.
Yet, God has not BEGUN, much, to dramatically display HIS MAJESTY as HE WILL.
He is NOT ABOUT to let satan have the more dramatic supernatural demonstrations.
That’s NOT in the cards at all.
ALMIGHTY GOD WILL DEMONSTRATE HIS ALMIGHTY-NESS. And CHRIST WILL BE LIFTED UP AND DRAW ALL THOSE WHOSOEVER-WILL’S TO HIMSELF.
PRAISE GOD.
so, that's what we hear on FR -- it's died down now but it was raging in 2009-2010
