WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama raised the stakes in the third straight day of budget talks on Tuesday by warning that senior citizens and veterans may suffer first if the debt ceiling is not raised by August 2. The comments came as top Republicans toughened their stance in the deficit reduction talks. Hours before heading to the White House, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said a "real solution" to the U.S. debt problem was unlikely while Obama was in office.

This would be a smart move by him. . .if he had any credibility left or the trust of the American People. He does not and all the MSM’s efforts will not restore it. He wasted it on declaring crisis after crisis while golfing and vacationing. The MSM will not try but they will simply not be able to restore this man’s credibility or the trust of the American People. The question is, do the Republicans understand this fact?
Doesn’t Obama realize that there are as many Democrats receiving social security checks as there are Republicans?

In truth, the US has been insolvent ever since we got into deficit spending. And will stay there until we get a balanced budget and don’t spend more money than we take in.

I expect the MSM to start with the meme that the Republicans are placing our troops in danger by calling our president and Affirmative Action Idiot who really only got elected on white guilt and the urban rabble and gays coming out like it was Mardi Gras to support him. I’ve seen this as the “end game” for the Dems for the past couple weeks. Either the GOP bends to their “way” (tax increases) or we cause the default, and blame the GOP by withholding SS checks.
All the more reason to do whatever it takes to ensure that I’ll never have to depend on the government.
People that depend on their SS checks have are being told that they are expendable for cheap political gain. FUBO!

Rubio on Rush today said the Senate GOP is terrified of Obama and the media using scare tactics. Obama says SS checks are in doubt. GOP caves on cue teem minutes later. This should be proof they are as big of a problem as the RATS and we have all been hoodwinked again. I wonder if we will go down the same road as the Blacks do for the RATS?
Obama will make a point of hurting as many people as he can if he doesn’t get his way. It’s who he is.
By what section of what Act of Congress (or any other legal authority) is the President of the United States authorized to unilaterally decide whether or not Government checks are sent out? Do we not need the House of Representatives, the Senate, the Judiciary or any other representative body to decide and take action before government departments can arbitrarily stop sending checks? Is Obama now a true dictator? Is he above the will of the electorate? When did our Government of the People, by the People, for the People become Government of any single individual? Who annointed him with this broad authority? Is this truly what the “world has been waiting for?”
