I have a relative who is collecting SSI, and is not disabled , but lazy.
SSI needs to be reformed, and every single person on it needs to have their case reevaluated.
I predict, if SS is eliminated, you will have a lot of retired people moving out of the country to countries with a cheaper cost of living. They will not pay taxes to the US. I will be one of them.
When the government reneges on a promise, then the trust and feeling of patriotism to the country will die.
Well and what really ticks me off about SSI are all the people, “fresh off the boat,” old, frail, aging, lazy, whatever. Never paid a dime into the system but can collect more than my parents, who worked here their entire lives, will ever see. Bad enough that we have our own home-grown moochers, but then the entire world’s too.
