House Speaker John Boehner is turning up the heat on President Obama, calling the debt-ceiling increase "his problem" and putting the onus on him to present a deficit-reduction plan that can pass Congress.
Republicans in both chambers had tough words for the administration ahead of another White House sit-down Tuesday afternoon. On the Senate floor, GOP Leader Mitch McConnell accused the president and his party of "deliberate deception."
The comments may reflect increasing pressure from rank-and-file Republicans to press for deeper spending cuts and not cave in to the administration's call for tax hikes.

I think the two Republican leaders, Boehner and McConnell are finally starting to get it.
I do too.
I saw McConnell on a Sunday show, and the host put up a quote from Ron Paul about how cuts have to be NOW not later, b/c they never show up. I wondered if the host were trying to set up McConnell by putting up a quote from the “kooky” Ron Paul.
McConnell didn’t budge. He said that the quote was absolutely right. (Which of course it is).
And...Boehner is right here. Rightly or wrongly, the POTUS is going to be seen by the public as the one to lead on this issue. He has to propose a solution that the party that controls the House will support.
And the House has said, no tax increases.
So that’s political reality. (Problem is, Obama knows that if he “caves” the the House GOP he will lose re-election. But I think I am starting to see what Rush and others have been saying....Obama is going to lose no matter what, and this week’s events are merely clarifying that).
About time.
They would be fools not to understand that they have the President up against the wall. The jobs situation is crap, the stimulus failed and worked so badly that it would have performed better and been less expensive if we’d just handed out $100,000 checks in the street. The President and the Democrats are in a box. Upwards of 60% of the public don’t want the debt limit increased and most don’t want taxes raised on job creators. The generic ballot numbers are falling for the Democrats because they have lost this debate and they are proving that they care more about spending spending spending than they do about the solvency of the US govt. They are unecessarily placing those all important entitlements at risk when they can easily make enough cuts to get us through the end of the year relatively painlessly.
“O” already lost.
Leadership is one thing you can’t fake. “O” is not a leader and cannot even make himself APPEAR as a leader.
He’s done.
...for those interested. :D
Lets' give SotH John Boehner / Sen. McCONNELL a well-deserved hand
....as long as they (John B. / Mitch M. ) stand strong.
I see the deliberate deception also as Obama and the rest of the criminal underclass trying to sucker the GOP into budging on tax increases so as to hammer them with a broken pledge in 2012
HOLD THE LINE! SPENDING CUTS TODAY!
Sounds like Boehner and McConnell are taking the right tact in this ‘debate’. They have laid out their plan and stated their requirements. As a result, the debate is turning back towards the theme that ‘Obama must make the final decision’. This of-course is absolutely what Barry and DIMs don’t want to have happen, because whatever choice he makes is going to piss a lot of people off. The MSM has been trying very hard to portrait Barry as the centrist in the room and that the decision is with the Repubs, but it looks like he’s starting to panic.
enough said....
I love DeMint. As all of us here do.
But I have to confess: I have always thought that McConnell was a pretty wily strategist, and pretty tough, and generally speaking, pretty conservative.
I think at this moment in time he is doing well.
When was that picture taken?
He’s so childish, with the middle finger all the time. What an embarrassment.
...and the LMSM, Is terrified, too.....
...and Nazi Pelosi / Dirty Reid & the LMSM vetted "the Won"
>> After the Republicans’ statements this morning, it should be an interesting meeting this afternoon...
Short meeting, I’m guessing. :-)
PREDICTION:
Obama will fold like a house of cards just before his Ramadan Vacation begins, and the MSM will tell us for the entire month of August how BRAVE Obama was, and What a LEADER Obama was, just like after Obamacare passed....
They’ve had it for awhile now but not many have seen.
Maybe... just maybe... they have finally figured out that compromise with Democrats is not compromise at all, but surrender - because they lie without conscience, knowing that the news media will always cover for them.
Ronald Reagan agreed to tax hikes in exchange for spending cuts that never materialized. George Bush (41) allowed himself to be suckered into reneging on his "Read my Lips" pledge, and it cost him the Presidency (and without getting the spending cuts he was promised, either).
The only way to beat the Democrats is to deny them and ignore the screams. It's like dealing with toddlers.
What the republicans should ask Hussien at the beginning of the meeting is: “Where is your plan?” When Hussien says starts talking in platitudes, the republicans should stand up and leave the meeting. They should immediately hold a presser and say that Hussien does not have a plan and there will be no more meetings until the Hussien issues a plan.
