The royal couple attended the party of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA-LA) held at the Belasco Theatre, a 1926 art deco gem, recently undergone a restoration. Will is President of BAFTA and wanted to promote the British film industry.
At the start of the 3-hour dinner, Will drew laughter with a reference to the film, The Kings Speech, about his great-grand father, King George V1. I should just like to thank Colin Firth for my perfect opening line - 'I have a voice', he said.
Liveried waiters served cocktails featuring Champagne Taittinger, Grey Goose vodka Floral Martini cocktails and the British summertime drink, Pimm's No. 1 with chilled lemonade, mint and cucumber.
Hors d'oeuvres included bite-size fish and chips with malt vinegar espuma, crisp toast with locally-farmed English pea purée and tangerine lace, and towers of ahi tuna with avocado and soya onions. Dinner staff in bowler hats, Union Jack-inspired outfits, and Edwardian-style waistcoats.
Guests drank from gold goblets and ate from antique-style plates at tables dressed with blooms of English dahlias and roses and towering table lamps decorated with the British flag.
Chef Joachim Splichal's Patina Catering's memorable menu that blended British tradition with California cuisine. Highlights included a courgette and mint tian with a lemon and pine nut gremolata, shaved manchego cheese and courgette blossoms garnish to start, followed by filet of beef with creamed leeks, pickled garlic, asparagus, turnip, baby onions, potato fondant, and red wine sauce.
For dessert, guests had a version of the British dessert Eton Mess: English rose meringue, strawberries, cream, sugar-dusted edible rose petals and pulled sugar.
Villa Maria Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc and Villa Maria Private Bin Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon were poured and Hotel Chocolat provided chocolate BAFTA masks on the tables.

I think her beauty is in her effortless poise ........and the naturalness she projects.....she seems so unaffected about her beauty.
Young Kate.
Thong???
You must of missed this thread lol Kate, The Princess of Cambridge, Has a ‘Marilyn Moment’
I used to have a fluffy crinckle skirt I loved. (I’m just a mom,OK.) First Marilyn Moment: I came out of the restroom, and down a long flight of stairs to the sanctuary, in front of the choir. A kind lady whispered that my fluffy skirt was caught up in my underwear.
Second and last Marilyn Moment: Almost the same scenario, only this time I was at work talking to the receptionist when I felt a cool breeze just as a male co-worker came down the hall behind me. I quickly corrected the situation, and he gave no indication he had seen me.
Over a year passed. Upon learning I was to be a co-worker with a woman from his church...He said, “Oh, I have to tell you a funny story about Westward Ho....!!!”
Fortunately, he was one of the funnest people you could ever meet and it was a good laugh!
So...My empathy goes out to Kate.....that was not planned or intentional!
At the most.
Schweeeeet!
That last stuff mentioned will never touch my lips.
I know what they say it is but I still don't want any.
Classy women have big natural eyebrows, not those little sperm shaped lines over their eyes.
So many young women have identical skinny style eyebrows.
These sisters are attractive but will someone tell women who wear darling little hats, that one puts up one’s hair if it is long when wearing a hat. Otherwise they look like little girls wearing mommmy’s clothes.
Funny I didn’t recognize him considering how many episodes of his shows I’ve watched over the years. Guess my eyesight is worse than I thought.
