I think the candid, spontaneous, well-informed, rough-and-tumble world of Free Republic is the best place in the world for readers to truly see the huge difference between the kinds of people who oppose, and the kinds of people who support, Palin.

If anti-Palin folks were banned, it would work against Palin. Palin detractors, like the Romney supporters, are given just the right amount of rope to hang themselves, thanks to Jim and thanks to FReepers who calmly, methodically, and objectively call them on their crap.

Hey, besides, think of all the fun it will be! Seriously, it was a blast and a half calling out the Romney supporters in post after post after post, quoting Romney's own words against them (like shooting fish in a barrel, actually -- ANY Romney speech or written piece is filled with examples of how his every solution is a government solution), and quoting their own posts as solid evidence of their duplicity and deceit of fellow Republicans in order to push their candidate and/or denigrate opposing candidates.

Some Palin critics are perfectly honorable, if wrong, such as those who cite her supposed lack of experience, the fact that she endorsed McCain in 2010, etc. But MANY Palin critics resort to the same deceitful techniques that Romeny folks did "in the ol' days," back in '08 -- deliberately misrepresent ("Palin's a quitter!") or downright lie ("Palin created a windfall profits tax on the oil companies!").

When somebody is reduced to stooping that low, it is a SURE SIGN that they're on the wrong side, and that their position is very, very weak. And when it's relatively easy to prove their arguments are gross distortions of truth or outright lies, why -- it's opportunity to do something really worthwhile!

It will be happy hunting! I sure hope she runs. I saw just now on another thread someone saying how great it would be if Palin announced on August 4th that she was running for president. On Obama's birthday -- WOULDN'T THAT BE FABULOUS!!!!
