This would only happen in blue states where politicians are trying to promote fake job growth. Like Baraq wanting to substitute bank tellers for ATMs.
Obama clearly shows his lack of knowledge about jobs with his stupid ATM statement.
I worked for a large credit union and, over a short time, we installed ATMs at every branch with the thought we could offest the cost of the ATM with a reduction in the teller staffing.
What happened was that we experienced what I called “the ATM syndrome”. We had more transaction volumes at the branches and therefore we could not reduce the teller staff. The good news was that we had more members join because of the convenience. They would come inside the branch after visiting the ATM and apply for a car loan, etc.
So, actually, ATMs (at the branch level) created jobs. And I had an entire department of staff to maintain the ATMs (cash replenishment, deposit processing, balancing, and general mechanical maintenance).
