Howard Dean says the only way you're ever going to control healthcare costs in this country is to get rid of the "perverse incentive that we [doctors] have to do as much as we possibly can."
Goward Dean, a doctor, says government health care beneficiaries should be given a "set amount and tell them 'this is what you get.'" Dean says government health care users should be told the benefits that are provided and "let them figure out how to do it."
"We use Medicaid not just for poor people. We use Medicaid for the basis of our universal health care for kids under 18. which we've had for 20 years in Vermont as a result of an expansion of Medicaid," Fmr. Gov. Dr. Howard Dean (D-VT) said on MSNBC. Dean ran for President in 2004 and served as DNC chair from 2005 to 2009.
"The problem with Medicaid is that it doesn't have that much of a constituency because not that many politicians care about poor people. The Republicans clearly don't care about them all. Obviously Orrin Hatch thinks they're the enemy."

So, if a diabetic cancer patient gets a heart attack, he’s f*cked. Is that what your saying, Dr. Dean? /sarcasm
RATS HATE OLD PEOPLE. THEY WANT THEM DEAD AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
Their logic is worthy of Mr. Spock. Tax the crap out of them for 45 years, then do everything possible to kill them before benefits kick in. As usual, Dean has his mouth open before his puny brain is engaged. MediCare is for seniors; while MedicAid is another welfare program for “the poor” and “the children”.

Which part of conservatism says to you that the old get unlimited health care which is paid for by unlimited taxes on the young?
Dean is a Socialist who believes in the kinds of single-payer/universal coverage systems that are falling to pieces in Europe.
A few months back I went to the Baltimore stop on the debate “tour” he has going with Karl Rove. The ONLY thing that the two really agreed on was that ObamaCare was completely unsustainable.
Dean (unlike Rove) saw that unsustainability as being a GOOD thing, because it would, in falling apart, lead to single-payer/universal coverage.
What part of conservatism says to you that the government has the right to confiscate the money we work hard for and then have parasites waste it so there is no money left to make good on a promise?
BTW, we all were young once. And we paid and yes, we are still paying cause “free health care”, i.e. Medicare ain’t free.
For most people that is around $80,000 to $110,000.
If I offered to buy back your Medicare card for $120,000, and in return told you that you would be responsible for your own medical expenses from that day forward for the rest of your life, would you take the deal??
Yes, in a heartbeat. That $120K in gold and silver will do very nicely for my needs. Or I can buy my own insurance.
BTW, your user name indicates you are old enough to have enjoyed reading “Smokie Stover” in the Sunday comics.
