In a press release issued this morning, the NAACP condemned 24-hour cable news channel CNN for its recently announced prime time news lineup, calling the lack of diversity in its collection of news anchors a glaring omission. The NAACP is deeply concerned with the lack of African American journalists in prime time news, both on cable and national news shows, NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous said in the statement. We have come to expect this from the likes of Fox News, but not other networks. While we understand that news is now a 24-hour cycle, most Americans get their news from the morning and evening prime time broadcasts. The new CNN news lineup, which was announced yesterday, features John King, Anderson Cooper, Erin Burnett and Piers Morgan. CNN did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The NAACPs Hollywood Bureau also announced its plans to meet with cable news presidents to address the issue. Hollywood Bureau Executive Director Vic Bulluk was not immediately available for comment.

I nominate Harris to replace Shep. She’s much better looking, doesn’t stumble on words over two syllables and makes cogent comments. It doesn’t hurt that she’s drop dead gorgeous.
Because, silly, liberals say one thing but they do another. You’d be surprised how many so called “tolerant” liberal hipsters come into the inner city from the ‘burbs and get freaked out by black or Hispanic hipsters.
Oh, I see. I always get confused when I expect leftists to make any kind of sense. If I spent any time with leftists, I’d be more used to it.
Maybe somebody should blast the NAACP for the lack of diversity in its leadership.
Sigh.....
That bright and beautiful white girl sure tans well.
Sigh.....
See you did not have to do that, now I am all happy(LOL).
LOL - in that vein, NBC’s Lester Holt is probably a lib, but he grew up in a military family. He’d make a better POTUS than Bambi anyday!
Ya, I thought of Harris Faulkner.
There is at least one other black man on Fox regularly, but I forget his name.
CNN also has a number of minority news people.
These people don’t know what they’re talking about. It’s 2011, not 1960. They may have had a point in 1960 but not today.
Yes he is a business analyst. I see him on the weekends.
They’re being selective about the news. They should pay more attention to news stories about corruption in government and violent crime.

You missed Harris Faulkner who has a weekend show and does "breaking news" segments. Wendell Goler, a White House corespondent. Uma Pemmaraju, is from India via Texas, and still appears on Fox's News With A View, The Strategy Room, and America's News HQ. I'm guessing that Kris Gutierrez is Hispanic. Kris is a corespondent based in Dallas and spent three months covering the BP oil spill. He routinely reports live from events in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas. He has provided coverage of floods in the Midwest, wildfires in California, shuttle missions from the Johnson Space Center in Houston, and the drug war along the Texas-Mexico border.
Someone should tell NAACP President/CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous that if he'd open his racist eyes he would see more "people of color" on Fox News then all their competitors combined.
We have come to expect this from the likes of Fox News" is NAACP code for "My mind is made up, I will never watch Fox, nah nah nah, I can't hear you (fingers in ears).

GtG
Exactly. When it comes to sports they always want the best players to play. But, not so when it comes to firemen, policemen and other more important jobs, in those positions they prefer racial diversity instead of best qualified. Go figure.
NAACP is a political agenda that seeks to keep as many African Americans as it can in their political gulag.
Fortunately, many of their best and brightest continue to escape, in growing numbers year by year.
Don’t forget Harris Faulkner, grrrrrrr, she’s hot.
Kelly Wright also...
