I guess that means I will have to hit the unsubscribe button on his next email.
... and Perry called Gore a good candidate and Palin called McCain a good candidate...
Well, he’d be a good Democrat candidate.
A Demint endorsement will be a big boost to Romney
Forgive me for quoting the White House from today ... but it fits:
“Governor Romney has reminded us that he’s a world-class political contortionist.”
— White House adviser David Plouffe
He did a lot more than just endorse him, he helped persuade him to run back in 2006.
DeMint was one of the early promoters of Mitt Romney to run in 2007, he was senior advisor to his exploratory committee.
JANUARY 2007, NOT, JANUARY 2008-— Senator DeMint wrote, “We must elect a President in 2008 who is up to the task, and I need you to encourage Mitt to run. ...

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Boston, MA Governor Mitt Romney announced today that Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) will serve as a senior adviser to the Romney for President Exploratory Committee.
OCTOBER, 2007
Boston, MA Today, Governor Mitt Romney named Governor Matt Blunt (R-MO), Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) and Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH) as National Co-Chairs of the Romney for President campaign. As National Co-Chairs, they will serve as key advisers to Governor Romney and his national campaign.
Senator Jim DeMint said, Governor Mitt Romney is the standard-bearer the Republican Party needs in 2008. His message of conservative change will bring our Party and Washington back to our most basic conservative values of fiscal discipline, smaller government and lower taxes. Governor Romney has the record and experience to bring true change to Washington.
Romney and he are still close,”WashingtonPost.com Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R) will appear as the special guest at a fundraiser next week to benefit South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMints 2010 re-election”
Win The Future !!
Romney wouldn’t go along with a single blankey blank proposal Demint has put forth !
As me ole Da youse ta say.......Jingling Jesus !!
Smart man, that said, he did say earlier, that he Romney would have to renounce Romneycare, to the best of my knowledge, Romney hasn't, and DeMint hasn't backtracked.
That said, Romney is a very good candidate, he's a liberal, who is in the lead, in the GOP primary, thats impressive, but at the end of the day, he is still a left wing statist and represents all that is wrong with the GOP today, and the fact that he is even viable, disgusts me to no end.
Romney inspirational? If that’s DeMint’s criterion, he might want to look again at just how good a candidate Romney is.
Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb
What was it, Senator? The global warming comments? Obamney care? or just that huge pile of money in the campaign chest?
I think I’ll be looking for that “unsubscribe” button too.
LLS
Romney is a good candidate for the Democrats and Obama...
A Vichy Republican. I guess DeMint is just another Progressive pubby.
No point in getting too angry at DeMint.
I’m sure National Review twisted his statement or took it out of context. Presumably he’d endorse Romney if he wins the nomination. What else can he say?
You can count on the left-wingers at NRO (which is most of them, now) to twist things to their own satisfaction.
DeMint is looking for the ability to inspire and show some courage and I think, take on our own party in some cases.

Sounds like he’s waiting for Palin.
$DemintRespect = $DemintRespect - 100;
Romney is a Rino and sits to the left of McCain. If he runs, I’m afraid it will be a disappointing election, in the order of 2008. There’s just not much to get excited about there.
And another (former) conservative joins the establishment?
Paging pissant...
