I totally expected not guilty on count one only because the cause of death and predetermination were not known but I cannot beleive she is not guilt on manslaughter and child abuse...WTF???

Problem was the jurors realized if they didn’t think there was evidence of intentional murder, they didn’t really have evidence that Casey killed the child in any way.
The partying doesn’t prove she killed the child but it sure does stick in the craw.
Most observers of trials think this way because they think the jury will come to some kind of compromise—we can’t convict her of the worst charge because that wasn’t quite proved so let’s convict her of something less so she doesn’t get away scott free. The problem is that each and every charge has to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, independently. That’s a very hard thing to prove in any trial with any jury, let alone with a case where all the evidence is circumstantial. But that’s how our Constitution was written.
Whether we like the outcome or not, the judicial system worked. She was not found guilty due to reasonable doubt.
We all have strong opinions on this, but the only opinion that matters is that of our judicial system.
I still remember how sure I was that the Duke Three was guilty as sin and we all know the outcome of that case.
Anyway, I am certain we have not heard the last of that bottom-feeding, lying, skanky, sociopath. She will be back in the news again - you watch.
