Thx and you’re welcome. You know, the older Ivey, the more I wish I had become a prosecutor/attorney. Too many defense attorneys who need to be put in their place. so many who deserve justice, like little Caylee.

Novel concept for all. What if it was an accident that snowballed out of control? Horrors. What if Casey was molested and is a Fruitcake? Horrors. Obviously that is what occurred. Maybe that is why the 12 regular people on the jury found her not guilty.

But we weren’t there...how much else had the jury heard, off the tapes. How did they view the items entered into evidence.

Yes, this “lynch mob” would kick her ass if I could get my hands on the little murdering sycopath. You do have something right for once.

I hear you. Like my sister and I always say, every once in a while a girl wants Sonny Corleone.

This is one of those days.

If you spent that much time listening to a bunch of media whore, I think you might need to reevaluate some things about your lifestyle. You are way too personally invested in this case to make or absorb a rational argument.

Time to let Scott Peterson out as he was found guilty because of his lies and suspicious actions also.

"... people like me herald what the mood out here is, and explain that there may be blow-back... I don’t see you evidencing any concern at all that these jurors may have subverted their jurors' duties in the process here."

I won't make excuses for the jurors, but if there's an undeniable public mood of grave consternation out there as you mention, it sure didn't seem to be prevalent in the jury box considering that it didn't take the jury very long at all to rule that the prosecutions' case was dog poop.

Look, this trial didn't take place in a vaccuum.  We were able to watch good portions of it.  The jurors can't act as if they know things we don't.  They took nine hours to nulify the case brough against Anthony.  The verdicts are almost universally deplored.  Please don't attempt to use the jury as the yardstick with which to measure others.  I could just as easily give you a seven inch ruler, and tell you it's a foot.

After all, if there really is a huge public sentiment about the Casey Anthony case to the point where the jurors need to watch their backs, you'd think that it would reflect in the jury's conclusion. Casey Anthony should never have had a flippin' chance no matter who sat on the jury, right?  There you go again.  The jury came up with this verdict, so how can I or anyone object?  You worded the comments to avoid this direct implication, but it's there none the less.  I'm not buying it.  The verdicts in this case defy logic.  This woman is going to walk after killing her daughter.  That's the truth of it.

It didn't, so where's the disconnect? Allow me to make a humble suggestion: The jury was hearing the state's evidence allowed to them by the judge on a daily basis, but the rest of America was watching Nancy Grace, Anderson Cooper, Geraldo, reading a bunch of unfounded innuendo on the Internet, and speculating amongst themselves in the way that children enjoy creeping each other out with scary ghost stories.  All fine and dandy, but I haven't watch one minute of Nancy Grace, Anderson Cooper, Heraldo, or read a bunch of unfounded innundo on the internet.  I haven't read the threads here.  I have read reports of the day's revelations and evidence, but I have not been buried in this stuff as if there was no existence outside of this case.

I know you're not holding a pitchfork or a torch in this. Also, you've been on FR long enough to understand that Freepers can confuse themselves into a mistaken frothing fury through mob action alone. You know better than to confuse that side of FR with 'The Real World®'.  I came to F.R. to express my own opinions.  My first comments came way down in the thread, but I arrived late to the game.  I wasn't reading anyone else's comments and feeding off of them, or building a frenzy based on the emotions here.  My reaction was in response to the idiotic verdicts.

Hell, man: There were five or six threads larger than this one last Fall focused on demanding that the USA nuke China for their act of war in firing a submarine-launched ballistic missile off the coast of Southern California near Catalina Island. Remember your concern for that idiotic spectacle of 'the mood out there'? I do believe you were (correctly) a skeptic then, right?  Look, you're twisting two different mind-sets.  Folks were advocating something back then, and I tried to sound the voice of reason.  Here we have a jury that so badly ignored the evidence, that this woman is going to walk.  None the less, I have not advocated for any course of action.  I have merely stated that I think there is a very good chance that some folks are not going to buy off on this, and they very well could take action.  You may not like hearing that, but it is a statement based on my perception of the mood of the public.

There is also the fact that it bothers you considerably that the public might not accept the jury decision in this, but you don't care what the jury decison was, you'll blindly follow them where-ever they want to go.  I can't do that.  I am not going to advocate for anything that is against the law, but the defense attorney was openly belittling people for thinking Anthony was guilty, and trying to state that only media hype could make her look guilty.  This guy is messing with fire here.  He needs to lay low and let this pass.  Well he's not going to.  I think that's literally dangerous.  Evidently the police do too.  I believe the police urged them to put on their loafers and get outa Dodge.

You're a long-timer here. I know you. Your credentials for not being an hysteric are well founded in my opinion.  Okay, then when I make statements that the police evidently agree with, it might be a good idea to take them for the sound comments they are.

I do appreciate the comments meant to convey that you don't think I'm hysterical.  I consider that to mean you were going out of your way to be somewhat cordial, and that was a nice thing to do.  Take care.

We live in a society where CSI Miami and Law and Order court drama shows are seen as the gospel. People look at shows like that and wonder where is the “Smoking gun.” People are convicted on circumstantial evidence every single day..Maybe Susan Smith should have been found Not Guilty, she could have used the same defense..”Hey the car rolled into the lake by accident, I didn’t report it because my step-father molested me” she would have walked too. Our justice system is seriously SCREWED UP. people don’t get it when someone says “Reasonable doubt” the word is REASONABLE..no one reasonably parties like they won the freakin lottery when their child dies, doesn’t matter if its an accident or not NO ONE parties when their child dies..and the list goes on and on..the evidence was OVERWHELMING. I wonder if the same people who are coming to Casey’s defense think that OJ was innocent too

That is not true, In fact it was the defense that wanted more peremptory challenges but was refused by the court. In the end, both sides said they were satisfied with the jury.<P

You are being a disgusting disgrace by making the jury villans. This is a very dangerous slope when the media and people like you start demonizing jurors. You may disagree with the verdict but to attack these people is wrong. We have the best justice system in the world and to demean it would be a real, serious disgusting travesty.

It wasn’t media whores that most of us heard, it was direct testimony over the Internet during the trial. We read the transcripts unlike most of you.

I believe that Casey will be accepted back into society....I do believe she will “go through” friends....she will party hearty till she ages and is no longer a young thing. She will end up on our TVs endlessly. She is a high school dropout, so she has to live off this notoriety. We will hear about her for years to come.

It is my understanding that the Jurors can only consider evidence that is INTRODUCED. WHO would have given them more tapes. The tape fairy.

rush covered it summing it up...
NO DNA.
No fingerprints.
No witness.
No witness testifying Casey told them she did it.
a mother who appeared for the life of the child to be a great mother
No specific evidence linking Casey directly to the child’s death or putting her in her own car.

I am NOT saying she didn’t do it..just that a lot of evidence WAS not there. Could they have convicted her on what was presented, yes. Could they have said, there wasn’t specific evidence for me?yes.
