Sen. John Cornyn warned President Obama on Sunday to not even consider interpreting the Constitution's Fourteenth Amendment to bypass Congress and raise the debt limit without its approval.
(Excerpt) Read more at foxnews.com ...
Oh lord, is THIS why obama is being so obtuse?
Because he has bypassed Congress to get everything else he wanted (including 1.5 new WARS) and he will continue to act on his own authority.... and escalate????
Does he calculate that Congress wouldnt DARE to impeach a BLACK president???
Warn until the Sun burns out.... Obama will do exactly what he wants to do, period.
Yup, makes sense now.
Why not? Is the Senator PREPARED to hear charges from the House on impeachment and vote to CONVICT the President, during and ELECTION CYCLE??? Not on your life! Oaf-bama will call their bluff and SPEND beyond the credit limit, because to him there is NO LIMIT to OUR money!
Impeach if he tries.
“Sen. John Cornyn warned President Obama on Sunday to not even consider interpreting the Constitution’s Fourteenth Amendment to bypass Congress and raise the debt limit without its approval.”
‘Cuz if he does, some of them just might not participate in the next golf outing with the idiot-in-chief. Maybe.
Well Sen. John Cornyn knows Obama wouldn’t do that. I mean after all it’s not like he’d continue an undeclared war after Congress told him to stop. No, no he’ll not do anything unconstitutional. That’s like saying he’d saddle the country with a health care bill that forces citizens to buy insurance whether they want it or not. We know that’s just preposterous.
Been saying for months Obama is going to do this and Cornyn’s comment makes it cleared to me the GOP is terrified he will do it. The GOP just blinked with this comment. *sigh*
Another day, another shred taken from the Constitution.
Of course not. But even more basic is the House will never, ever, ever bring Impeachment charges. They just throw us a bone once in awhile like they are actually going to do something.
It’s been time for a Third Party for quite awhile now.
He knows the Senate would not remove him, under any circumstances.
As such, the House impeaching him would constitute a huge favor.
bttt
The senate better open their eyes cause they’ll go down with the rest of us.
That is the #1 problem. Bending the rules a little has been exploited out of control. It is time to enforce the constitution regardless of the so-called pressing need to bend it.
Now lets see what the 14th amendment says since Tiny Tim the Tax Cheat quoted just a Tiny Tim little piece of it and ignored the rest...
“4. The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned.”
That is the Tiny Tim part Tiny Tim the Tax Cheat quoted..but there is a problem you see. The rest totally destroys Tiny Tim the Tax Cheats argument-the rest reads..
“But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.”
Now Tiny Tim the Tax Cheat seems to have forgot article 5 where it ends by..
“5. The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.”
Care to explain this to us Tiny Tim the Tax Cheat? You crooked slimy little twerp!
What does it take to impeach this whole administration? They can commit fraud, theft, obstruction of justice, and about anything you and I can think of and its OK with the National socialists democrat party. And the GOP is to GD cowardly to stand up and face them. So, I guess it goes to the citizens per the tenth since the states are also chicken shit to do anything.
Don't misunderstand me. Ignoring the debt limit would be political suicide for the Democrats, and the Republicans know this. Polls show a majority don't want the debt limit raised at least without huge spending cuts.
If the dems pull this stunt, they will do it by themselves, which is why they would rather get the GOP to agree to raise the debt limit.
If the Dems do ignore the limit, Cornyn wants to make sure the blame is all theirs.
John Boy...you need to bring some cajones to this argument...not your usual mamby pamby bullshitte. I voted for you the last time around....I seriously doubt I will again because you squat to pee when faced with tough decisions. Stand up boy, grab it and show us Texans that you know how to face a firestorm of commies and put out the fire!
