This is an awesome article and it speaks the truth.

When the "trains would no longer run on time," conservatives were no alternative.

In my genealogy research I obtained a letter from my great-grandmother's brother in Germany to her (in the U.S.) in the late 1930's. Their sister had been a nanny to the last Emperor's family before WWI, and he was a prominent physician.

In the letter the elderly doctor feebly laments the failure of the conservatives in the Weimar Republic and says their ways had failed, and that they just had to go ahead and try the new ways and accept the new thinking of the next generation, sheepishly mentioning how he and his son were having to join the Nazi Party, SS, and other Nazi organizations now to remain relevant and respectable in their work.

I look at his letter and look at the Establishment wing of the Republican party and see too much alike. They wouldn't know real conservatism if it bit them, but they are convinced it has failed. They are blind to the social apocalypse they are ushering in as an alternative.

“The Jackboot has been firmly planted on the throat of all Americans.
Not quite, but almost. If 0bamaCare is held to be constitutional, we’re dead meat.”

They don’t even need warrants anymore—no 4th amendment.

I’d say the Jackboot is firmly planted—ObamaCare is icing on the cake.

IIRC, that was a state court decision (Indiana?) which will be overturned.

“Patriot” Act—no court order warrants needed for some circumstances, GPS on your car without court warrant/probable cause, phone tapes without warrant, TSA searches and seizures without probable cause...just to name a few.

There were about 16 people in it, and half of them were clueless.

The state of NY is a joke. I'm finally at a point where I'm looking to move elsewhere.

What good is it to win if you cheat, you ask? A better question, how can you do better by losing?

All I’m saying is, if what we’re trying to do is uphold decent American, dare I say, “Christian” values, we cannot do that by compromising on those values on the altar of expediency. The Left says “by all means necessary” and that is a collapse of ethics—which is to be expected of them, as leftists have always been relativists—one reason why socialistic relativism doesn’t work...in the long run.

We do not create a more ethical (and constitutional) America by using unethical (and unconstitutional) means.

It really is better—in light of eternity—to lose a battle honorably than to win by corruption. In the long run you win more by losing well...than winning rottenly. Of course our goal should be to WIN with honor, but never to win by any means...
