My buddy was just in a focus group with Steve Wynn, where Steve told the group he is running as a independent, announcing Monday.
Sounds like he would need to wear a name tag to most political functions. :-) that actually happened to Perot’s running mate. I forget the function. Maybe it was their “convention”. But here was the VP nominee - stockdale an honorable man - reduced to wearing a name tag because no one knew who he was. Pathetic. We can’t take on obama with these nobodies.
His casinos are top notch...as good as it gets.
He supported Obama before.
In case anyone wondered why he opened his casino in Macau:

LOL
Love Sinatra :)
He voted for Obama in ‘08; sounds like he wants to make sure he wins again.
Wynn is no kook or attention whore. This guy is a LOT more to worry about than Donald Trump.
An unlikely Obama voter -

Strip expert Steve Freiss is stunned:
But the bit that stunned me was [casino magnate Steve] Wynn claiming he voted for Barack Obama in 2008.
We know that soon-to-be-ex-wife Elaine was gaga for Barry and that she forced Steve to socialize with the Obamas, where Wynn admitted to being charmed.
But is it not a bit of a surprise that in all the many, many rants that Wynn has made to me, to Jon Ralston, to whoever on Fox or CNBC flips on a camera for him, he has never once said this before?
He gave not a cent to Obama and the legal limit to John McCain — and gave the legal limit again for McCain’s 2010 Senate campaign, by the way — but he VOTED for Obama?
Wynn seems unlikely to do it again.
UPDATE: My ex-Vegas colleague Molly Ball points out that Wynn actually co-chaired the RNC’s efforts in the state in 2008.

His died hair, stretched face and deep tan makes him a laughingstock. The Wynn is one big rip off.
>> It can easily be argued that Perot gave the Toon his victory, such as it was.
Agreed.
I understand the argument that 3rd party candidates should not be held accountable for lost elections, but it’s disingenuous to argue 3rd party candidates are not capable of adversely affecting election results.
The sequence of events that followed Perot’s participation in the ‘92 elections was a consequence of his involvement. That’s not to say, however, that Perot is responsible for the policies that failed to prevent 9-11.
Word has it he has a very good plastic surgeon. Las Vegas has a lot of those. I can’t think why, though. [wink]
All we need is another fake in the WH.
Thanks for posting that. I was scanning the posts to see if someone already mentioned this before posting it myself.

Isn’t Wynn like 90% blind?
I heard it him say it with my own tinitus-riddled ears. It was on the Stossel show about 2 week ago, I believe.
Wynn said something about wanting to be in on a “historical event”-—the usual claptrap you hear from wealthy Obama voters.
Now he is disappointed in Obama. Gol-ly! So his solution is to siphon enough votes from the GOP candidate to assure Obama winning some key states (like Florida)?
A second term for 0 won’t be “disappointing”-—it will be open warfare on America. Wynn had better get a hold of himself.
Unless, of course, he is working a deal with the Dems.
He has tunnel vision. So do most democrats.
>> soon-to-be-ex-wife Elaine ... forced Steve to socialize with the Obamas,
>> [Steve] VOTED for Obama?
So he says.
For men like Steve, language is a form of both skill and art.
I think Trump is a fraud and a fake conservative also.
And I believe that the only way Obama wins is to split the vote with a third party candidate.
Recent history: Obama’s buddy, MA Gov Patrick beat GOP Baker thanks to Dem-turned-Independent State Treasurer Cahill.
Baker could have run a better campaign...but, the third party did the trick for Deval....
Can somebody run against Zero in the Dem primaries, or will the Dems not even have primaries for 2012 ? If Wynn ran in the Dem primaries, then ran as an Indy when he lost the primary to Zero, would that be enough to establish him in Dem voters’ minds and siphon votes away from Zero in the general ? Be nice to see the Dems suffer the Perot effect this time around.
Every Republican conservative needs to get serious and pragmatic and encourage Rep. Allen West to run for President.
Steve Wynn would syphon off votes in the most meaningless way I can imagine. The only third party combo that might stand a chance is a Palin/Paul ticket and that is reaching big time.
Neither is a good businessman. They’re both dirty.
