(CNN) -- Prosecutors dismissed a charge Monday against a community activist who was arrested while filming a police encounter with her iPod camera because she was concerned it was initiated by racial profiling.

"I'm feeling vindicated, I'm feeling energetic" Emily Good, 28, of Rochester, New York, said of the decision to have the charge dropped. Good had been charged with obstruction of governmental administration when she began videotaping the interrogation of a black man by three white officers in front of her house on May 12, she said.

"Based upon the evidence, we could not make out the elements of the crime charged," Monroe County First Assistant District Attorney Sandra Doorley said.

Good said she intends to file a civil suit.

>>By the way, people can, and are, arrested for situations where after the fact charges are dismissed, and the officer not held to account for the arrest (in other words, the arrest was appropriate, but the DA decided not to pursue charges). Simply because THIS DA didn’t have any balls to stand behind this officer’s arrest of this woman doesn’t mean that the arrest was invalid or inappropriate. <<

So when the DA said there was NO EVIDENCE OF A CRIME, and the Rochester Police Department offered none that we know of, in your mind, the DA is a liar and a coward.

Got it.

You should watch the video. Early in the video, before he started to approach the citizen, lawfully video taping him on her own property, he turned his back on the suspect (who apparently turned out to be innocent as well) and started looking at a speaking to the woman. The suspect was within about a foot of him at the time.

But your statement about the suspect being in the patrol car further undermines the bully cop’s claim that he felt endangered by the woman. The most potentially dangerous part of the traffic stop was over by the time he started shining the flashlight in the woman’s face and bullying her on her own property.

I have great respect for police officers, but this particular one is a bully who lacks the intelligence, courage, integrity, and most of all, respect for the law, to do the job.

The cops actions are defendable. He has his safety to be concerned about, even if you cannot appreciate it.

No they are not. And the fact that the DA said the woman committed no crime, means nothing to you.

You are beyond help.

After watching the video for the THIRD time, I have to call you a bald faced liar. The "suspect" was handcuffed. At NO time did the officer turn his back on the HANDCUFFED suspect. The woman continued videoing the two officers who were going through the suspects vehicle while the other officer took the suspect to the patrol car.

The woman, after the officer placed the suspect in the car, and continued talking to the woman about his concerns, then moved the camera to where that officer was standing - the lights from the patrol vehicle obscurred the officer until he walked up to the front of the vehicle. In the video it is quite clear that the woman was NOT in her yard, but was on the sidewalk (public domain, and near to the police action, not private property).

Even after the woman was removed from the area in the patrol car, the people, who continued the video, are clearly heard speaking about the fact that the woman was standing on the sidewalk (again, not private property, and clearly too close to where the officers were performing their jobs).

Your, and other's, reaction to what this officer did is puzzling to me. The woman was clearly too close to the the police when they were enacting a stop and search of the suspect. She argued with the officers after the request to remove herself from the area. She continued to argue, and did not step back onto her property (clearly discerned in the video) until just before the officer decided to arrest her for interfering. Your lies will not hide the truth shown in the video.

If the cop was threatened by the woman being outside, why did he not arrest the OTHERS who were outside?

Why didn’t he arrest THEM????? Why just the woman with the camera?

I’ll be waiting for your answer.

About time. You sure take long enough to allow facts to sink in.

Let me see. Could it be that the “others” you speak of were ON THE WOMAN’S PROPERTY and not on the sidewalk as she was? Geeze. You’d think the video would be sufficent evidence of that fact without this needing to be pointed out to you.

You’re great at insult, but short on understanding simple truths and facts.

I guess you didn’t watch the video. She stepped back off the sidewalk early on.

I think that’s a lot of what may be the problem, your poor powers of observation.

But, your official stance is the DA is a coward and a liar. No pretense at objectivity whatsoever.

And thus ends any chance of anyone taking you seriously in any way.

Because the woman was the only one to enter and become a factor in the arrest. If she kept her distance and let the arrest happen peacefully, judging from this particular video, the cop would have likely left her alone.

I guess you failed to see where I watched the video THREE times. Yes, she retreated, slightly (and I mean very slightly). But, she was still on the sidewalk as evidenced by the conversation that took place by her comrades after the woman was taken away. Epic fail on your part.

<<

She did keep her distance. Just as much distance as everyone else.

And the arrest had already taken place when Johnny Jackboot decided to show everybody what a tough man he was, and could boss hery around.

Again, that exposes the LIE that the cop felt endangered by her proximity, because others were just as close, and he didn’t bother them.

And videotaping from your own property is not a crime.

what part of NO CRIME WAS COMMITTED do you not understand?

You’re right, her arrest means nothing to me, because the police officer was correct in arresting her. You don’t get close to an officer arresting somebody.

The officer doesn’t know you’re real intent. He doesn’t know if you’re just an interested bystander or you’re going to go after his gun or if your going to attack him.

She stepped back onto her yard.

The cop never dispiuted this, but kept walking.. What was his next complaint? Get in your yard? No, because she was already there.

So he says “I don’t feel comfortable with you standing behind me.”

But, in your world, the cop is right, although no crime was committed (and you can cite none), and the DA is a coward and a liar (although you don’t know that).

You are a real piece of work.
lol
