Perry may be clean (I think he is) but he's not been vetted.

He's had some real anal exams from the LIBERALS here in TX and even some from "our side" who wanted Sen Kay Bailey Hutchison to parachute back home into the Gov. mansion.

Of course the MSM and the blogosphere and all the opposition dirt digging and truth twisting will follow, as it always does.

Perry biggest problem is Bush, the Rats and the media hoes will hog tie Perry to Bush. Obama would love to run against Bush one more time, Perry gives them a chance to do just that. I know it's not fair and it's not true but that is the main weakness I see in Perry right now.

That said, the Rats run the risk of "buyers remorse", could be that a lot of swing voters think Bush was better then Obama or that a better Bush (Perry) might just be a lot better then Obama. It's a calculation that is over my pay grade, but for sure Perry will be painted as another Bush, you decide if that would be fatal to Perry. Clearly Jeb Bush has decided it's fatal in 2012.
