I once took a class at University on screen writing. There were three things that the instructor stressed made scripts, either for TV, advertising, or movies, grab a person’s attention: sexual situations, tension/violence, or humor.

The next time you watch a commercial or movie remember those three. It explains a lot about what is going on today in visual media.

It’s over the line IMHO. But it should serve as a tool to tell young men not to go into teaching.

http://www.bnet.com/blog/advertising-business/kia-denies-knowledge-of-pedophile-ads-that-won-cannes-prize/9171

“Kia Motors America (KMA) has become aware of an offensive piece of advertising material that was created by an ad agency in Brazil that KMA has no business relationship with and has never worked with. This ad was not created in the U.S. by Kia Motors America or any of its marketing partners and does not reflect the opinions or values of KMA or Kia Motors Corporation. The ad is undoubtedly inappropriate, and on behalf of Kia Motors we apologize to those who have been offended by it. We can guarantee this advertisement has never and will never be used in any form in the United States, and our global headquarters in Seoul, South Korea is addressing the issue with the independent Brazilian distributor.”

This criticism is more over-the-top than the ads themselves.

Geez Louise!

1. How the hell does this prompt anyone to buy a vehicle?

2.Which idiot ad firm created this worthless pos?

3. Who at Kia approved it?

#2 & #3 should be fired immediately.

No wonder I only watch commercial free TV.

Anybody that would buy a vehicle with the letters KIA won't be swayed by some cartoon ad.
KIA=KILLED IN ACTION.

I agree that it was a bad idea to create an ad that juxtaposes these kinds of images. If they are given the pedophilic interpretation that many are giving them, though, the whole point of the commercial is lost.

The point, it seems to me, is that the car can have two temperature zones: one not hot (the innocent one showing the preteen student) and one hot (the one showing the student who has assumed more womanly proportions). Note that the lustful part shows the more womanly form. That’s the opposite of pedophilia. A pedophilic fantasy would depict older students as being younger.

I see at least two things wrong with the ad, though. The innocent, non-hot images on the left seem to be directly — as if causally — connected with the hot ones on the right (though that’s not in keeping with the point of the ad). So the sequence of images does lend itself to the interpretation that the teacher is having lustful thoughts about the young student.

Also, as has been pointed out, the images on the right are themselves objectionable because teachers shouldn’t be having lustful thoughts about students, even those who have the physical appearance of mature women. (If the thoughts arise, at least they shouldn’t be acting upon them. Starting with “anatomy” implies that this might be about to happen).

The new world order approves of pedos. It may very well be a prerequsite to having a seat at the table with Obummer and Hellary.
