ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A veteran Republican senator tells The Associated Press he will vote yes on gay marriage, apparently giving the measure the support it needs to become law.
Sen. Stephen Saland (suh-LAND') says he has long been undecided. He voted against a similar bill in 2009, helping kill the measure and dealing a blow to the national gay rights movement.

My guess is that this law will cause more people to move to New York than out of New York.

I’m a little confused. News stories said they voted on the amendments for religious exemptions. Is the vote still to be had on legalizing fake marriage?

Your post is very offensive, and I sent in an Abuse Report on it.

Equality.
So he’s going to be OK with polygamy?
With brother-brother and sister-sister marriages?
Effing immoral liberal giving in to those with money and big loud screaming faces who represent and underwhelming minority of the American people.
We’re going to need a marriage amendment to the US Constitution.
To: fwdude
yeah, I hear ya. I just saw that on a news site as I was surfing. Can’t remember where as I surf all over. Looking now.

What this means is that somebody has good dirt on this scumbag Saland. A daughter, wife, or other family member has had multiple abortions. Something like that... Or, maybe Saland himself is just another foot tapper.

The citizenry do not want same sex “marriage”. The people of the US or the state of NY do not deserve to have turncoat spineless Rs in office. The political class offers tweedledum and tweedledee to vote for more often than not, or Rs claim to be conservative while running for office and then become a different creature afterwards.
More doom/n/gloom from you. Is that the only song you sing?

What's
"offensive" about it?
... If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death ;
their blood shall be upon them. ...
...Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out.

They’re still debating on the live feed. What? I don’t think the final vote has been cast.

It really is a failure of civics education for people to even pay attention to the state level. Whether it is a state statute or a state constitutional amendment, nothing will stop gay marriage short of a Federal Constitutional Amendment prohibiting gay marriage. Given the jurisprudence of Federal Constitutional Law of equal protection - anything that prohibits gay marriage (federal statute, state statute, state constitutional prohibition) will fall. The gay and lesbian political and legal machine is very focused and very skilled, and they will slowly, but surely achieve a victory, unless a Federal Constitutional Amendment strictly limiting marriage to one man and one woman is enacted. End of story. Stop wasting energy getting upset about machinations at the state level, it does not matter.

Sure, sell the house that no one will buy, or just leave it behind, leave the job if someone is fortunate enough to have one, and move to a state where you don’t know anyone or have a house or a job.
Makes tons of sense.

But we’re constantly scolded by Daniel-type “Republicans” and told that we need to “call a truce” on “social” conservatism until we get our financial house in order. And look what happens; an irreversible abomination.

What was offensive about it? You don’t believe homosexuals are perverts? I find homosexuality very offensive and the joke of homosexual “marriage” even more offensive.
To: Yosemitest; Lauren BaRecall
Snide comments about how all conservatives deserve to have fag “marriage” forced upon them and if they don’t move they must like living with perverts are pretty strange comments.

As long as Obama is president, I imagine I will be doom and gloom. I will be much more optimistic in 2012.
To: massmike
I guess everything’s going to have to crash and burn before it gets better.
Really disheartening.
