ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- State legislative leaders said Wednesday afternoon there are no major obstacles to a vote on whether to legalize gay marriage.

Democrats and Republicans emerged from meetings with Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo and said there is progress toward proposed additional religious protections that could bring a gay marriage bill to the Senate floor for a vote as early as Wednesday night. No deal had been struck as of Wednesday afternoon.

Why bother to vote? If the public makes a ‘mistake’; some judge will overturn the will of the people. So, why even bother to put it on the ballot?

As long as Judges are allowed to overturn the will of the people; they might as well dictate what laws will be enforced, which laws will be ignored, and which laws will be created. The Judicial Branch has effectively made the Legislative Branch irreverent.

Both lists - the perversion of marriage turns moral absolutes on its head and inside out, and pushes the greater "gay" agenda along full speed ahead. The goal and purpose of same sex "marriage" is to destroy society, the family and marriage. They admit it, it's that simple.

Listen to the fake optimism in this piece. Just a demoralizing tool, like the Gaystapo loves to use.

If there were "no obstacles" it would be voted on by now, wouldn't it?

Looks like this one will go to the New York State Supreme Court?

What is the make-up of the justices that sit on the Court?

The fix is in here. If this goes to the floor, the sodomites will have bought off enough legislatures to get it to pass.

How long can the “session” be extended for sodomy? Indefinitely?

The issue has already been to the NYS Court of Appeals which ruled in favor of the traditional definition of marriage.

It makes you wonder what will be next.

I imagine it will be polygamy. How can homosexuals marry but polygamists can't?

New York's highest court is called the Court of Appeals. (The "New York Supreme Court" is actually a trial court-- what most other states call the "Superior Court.") The New York Court of Appeals has already held that the State Constitution does NOT require gay marriage. What they are trying to do now is to pass gay marriage throgh the Legislature, which is the way it should be done; social policy should be set by the elected branches, not the courts.

These vile politicians would sell their own mothers souls for votes and staying in power. New Yuck will be a state of misery henceforth.

If that is the case, the CA Prop 8 case and this NY case will both go to the SCOTUS.

And on the surface, it would appear that NY case offers the greatest threat to traditional marriage.
