John McCain and Sarah Palin have long insisted things are all good between them, even after their losing 2008 presidential effort wound up with a nasty bout finger pointing between loyalists to the two former running mates. But the family members of both candidates are not being so publicly amicable.
As ABC News's Sheila Marikar reports, Bristol Palin trashes the McCain clan in her new upcoming memoir, "Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far."
It's unclear from Marikar's report whether the 20-year-old Palin daughter e specifically mentions her mother's running mate, her book does slam McCain's wife, Cindy, for acting like "royalty" and accuses the senator's 26-year-old daughter, Meghan, of being a snobby whiner.
Palin writes that she had a "sneaking suspicion I might need to watch my back" the first time she met Meghan McCain. She says the senator's daughter "ignored" the family during their first meet-and-greet and always seemed to be judging them.
"Every time we saw Meghan, she seemed to be constantly checking us out, comparing my family to hers and complaining," Bristol Palin writes. "Oh the complaining."
Cindy McCain, Palin writes, looked like a "queen" and conducted "herself like royalty." "I'd never seen people with so much Louis Vuitton luggage, so many cell phones, and so many constant helpers to do hair and makeup," Palin writes.

a memoir from a twenty year old criticizing other people...a must read /s. If the excerpts are any example, who would waste time reading such garbage...other then meghan mccain? Why don’t they just find a sleazy, hole in the wall bar and mud wrestle.
Several years ago, I was invited to a relative's wedding. Mrs WBill and I were most certainly the poor churchmice there, for the entire weekend. In sitting around yakking with many of the guests, it was quickly apparent that I was way, way, way out of my league.
The guys, for the most part, were pretty down to earth. There was one who was complaining at length about having to land his private jet in San Jose, instead of Carmel (Do you have a frame of reference for problems like that? I certainly don't...) But otherwise, we talked about kids, and baseball, and how to get crabgrass out of our lawns, and normal guy things.
Per my wife, the women were a little more difficult. One in particular - my cousin married her because she was blonde, beautful, and if a thought ever crossed her mind it would die of lonliness.... Anyway, this woman complimented my wife on her dress, and asked who made it for her.
My wife replied that she had just bought it at Belk's. The bimbo leaned forward conspiratorially and said "Oh, that's OK dear, I like to go slumming occasionally, myself".
Mrs WBill said that nothing mean-spirited was intended by it - this lady just never considered that normal people just walk into stores and buy clothes off the rack.
"Shocked" wouldn't really describe my feelings. It was just an eye-opener. Otherwise, Mrs WBill and I had a great time. The wedding was a real stunner.
I don’t know about Bristol. First there was the pregnancy, okay could happen and does happen to a lot of girls. Then the on again off again Levi story. Recently announced reality series with her moving in with the Massey brothers (baby in tow) totally disgusts me. Now the “tell all” book from a 20 year old, which from the excerpts sounds like it’s written by a 20 year old...my opinion, 20 year olds shouldn’t write books about their lives...they’re brains aren’t fully mature till they’re 25, they should at least wait till then :)
HA! You don't have a real good understanding of teenage girls, do you?
She's typing faster than I am right now. Guarantee it.
But only one of them is young enough to be in high school.
I know a lot of people who have been biting their tongues when it comes to saying anything about Meghan McCain because they thought of her as a child but they will support Bristol for coming out and saying her mind.
The media has watched her closely and commented on this 20 yr old - where was the complaint about that?
I believe Bristol Palin is going to learn some lessons the HARD way.
LOL.
I guess not, I just have 2 boys.
I don’t believe this “Bristol Palin” book even sees the light of day without the complete approval of every last word and punctuation mark by Sarah Palin. Can’t figure out the end game here.
Nah, She’s just exercising her right to speak freely and get paid doing it. This is pure Americana. In fact, there’s a glimmer of marketing genius herein. We have a culture problem in this country that is debilitating the political process. We have vast swaths of empty-headed youth who are tapped into reality tv and other such atrocities against reason, and are so detached from political reality as to be a clear and present danger to the republic every time they cast a vote. Having someone like Bristol forge a point of connection between that loose cannon demographic and her mom, an anchor of conservatism, all while boldly reaffirming fundamental constitutional and free market principles *by example,* is sheer freakin genius (said my best Dennis Miller voice).
Children of politicians should be seen and not heard.
Scratch that, they shouldn’t be seen either.
Truth be told, I’d like to hear and see a lot less of both of these young ladies. Between the two, Bristol annoys me much less, but it wasn’t very smart of her to start a personal and public feud with Miss Piggy. Megan will be invited to every MSM microphone and venue to sling mud back at Bristol and her family. Bristol will be allowed very few, if any, microphones to diss the McCrazy family. Megan wins.
And you’re a moron.
“It says something about the limited horizons of Bristol Palin’s life that she found meeting a rich family such a shock. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. “
I don’t think “rich” has anything to do with it.
I’m convinced the out of touch GOP and McLame selected because they thought she was exactly wrong, and would cost them the election. Their entire plan was to lose so they could blame the recession on Democrats and get Romney elected in 2012.
they both should grow up
I happen to disagree with you. And, I say, let Bristol say what she wants. I love it. The snobbish McCains have it coming. The elites in this country are in a minority anyway.
