U.S. officials say Pakistan has apparently tipped off militants at two more bomb-building factories in its tribal areas, giving the terror suspects time to flee, after U.S. intelligence shared the locations with the Pakistani government.
Those officials believe Pakistan's insistence on seeking local tribal elders' permission before raiding the areas may have most directly contributed to the militants' flight, though they also suspect low-level security officials may have tipped the militants off.
U.S. officials have pushed for Pakistan to keep the location of such targets secret prior to the operations, but the Pakistanis say their troops cannot enter the lawless regions without giving the locals notice.
All officials spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss matters of intelligence.
The latest incidents bring to a total of four bomb-making sites that the U.S. has shared with Pakistan only to have the terrorist suspects flee before the Pakistani military arrived much later. The report does not bode well for attempts by both sides to mend relations and rebuild trust after the U.S. raid on May 2 that killed Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad, a Pakistani army town only 35 miles from the capital Islamabad.

Gates is poised to play the “our relationship with Pakistan is complicated” card again, no doubt.
And money! Lots and lots of money!!! We don’t need it!!!
‘Relationship with Pakistan is not an easy one’: US
PTI Jun 17, 2011, 12.11am IST
WASHINGTON: America’s relationship with Pakistan is complex and not an easy one, the Obama administration said on Thursday.
“I think it’s not a secret that our relationship with Pakistan is complex, that’s it’s not easy, that we have our challenges,” the new State Department spokesman Victoria Toria Nuland told reporters at her first news conference.
“But as we’ve said many times from this podium, as the (US) President has said, as the Secretary (of State) has said, the US has a profound national interest in working with Pakistan on terrorism, on extremism, on promoting democracy and stability and prosperity, not only in Pakistan but throughout the region,” she said.
“So it’s important that we keep at it, and we’re planning to keep at it,” Nuland said, but she refused to entertain questions related to the Pakistan Army Chief, General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani.
“With regard to General Kayani and his internal situation, I would just send you to the Pakistanis on that one,” she said.
They’re our strong ally in the War on Terror! Have some more of my tax dollars, guys!
The answer is simple: no more aid to Pakistan.
“the Pakistanis say their troops cannot enter the lawless regions without giving the locals notice.”
Lawless regions. That’s the problem. And they will remain lawless until the Paks go in there and crush some nutz, establish a presence, and stay there. But they’re not really interested in doing that.
That woman isn’t to swift....
No Vicky, our ‘relationship’ is not complicated at all. We don’t have one. What we have is a bunch of morons running the show who think that giving an enemy a loaded gun to shoot you with and instructions for pulling the trigger is a good idea.
We also have ‘leaders’ that are doing their not so level best to turn the mid east into a free-fire zone in order to break the USA financially and militarily through asinine ROEs and prosecution by a racist Justice Dept.
Finally, we have a ‘resident’ that can’t figure out where to wipe without teleprompted directions from his Communist staff and permission from George Soros, who by the way, seems to be profiting nicely these days from all the havok.
That about cover it Vicky?
So, how many billion$ will the usurper be sending them this week?
And KO their nuke arsenal -- destroy all their MRBMs in their silos. ...and whatever stockpiles they have. Very tough assignment, but one that eventually will have to be done we have any hope of averting a complete disaster. No Islamic nation should be allowed to join the nuclear club. Ever.
Yes, and tell Putin/China to shut the hell up when they start bitching as well.
But we’d need a real leader to do that.
Our Tax money at work.
Time to cut these bastards off from our tax dollars and let India know that we’ll gladly sell them whatever they ask.
Well maybe the Japanese Nuke club.
This is a joke!
It may come to the point where Pakistan denies Uncle Sam the use of its airspace for drone strikes. At that point we’ll have to ask ourselves - do we continue the airstrikes and risk shootdowns by the Pak air force. And when the first drone is swatted out of the sky, then the question is whether we begin leveling Pakistan Air Force installations together with their complement of interceptors. And what if the Taliban takes over in Pakistan while we are fighting Pakistani military units? Events in Pakistan are getting real messy.
I was listening to a rebroadcast of Rush. After what he said, I am revising my comment to stop all aid to Pakistan. The only solution is to end the Obama Regime and with it, the disastrous State Department headed by Hilary, the Hildebeast, Clinton.
