Bellevue family sues FBI over 'terrifying' raid
PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE-REVIEW ^ | 16 June 2011 | Brian Bowling

The lasting impact of the raid on Gary Adams' home became clear in a comment from his 3-year-old granddaughter during a recent trip to the pharmacy. "She said, 'Granddad. Police. Hide,' " Adams, 57, of Bellevue recalled Wednesday while discussing the federal lawsuit he filed against the officers who burst into his home March 3. Led by FBI Special Agent Karen Springmeyer, about a dozen officers used a battering ram to enter Adams' rented Orchard Street home in a search for Sondra Hunter, then 35. But Hunter hadn't lived at that address for almost two years, while Adams and his family had been living there for more than a year, according to the lawsuit filed by Adams and 10 other family members.

Denise Adams, 58, said seeing the red dots from the officers' targeting lasers crawl across her children's faces also has cost her faith in law enforcement.

These FBI Agents should be tried for crimes against humanity.

The most outrageous statement in the entire article:

“She is charged with conspiracy and heroin trafficking and is free on a $25,000 unsecured bond.”

How the F does ANYONE justify a no knock, door breaking raid to arrest a criminal that is going to be released on an unsecured bond?

This is not apparently Al Capone they were after.

"She said, 'Granddad. Police. Hide,' "

There is the real reason, to create fear of authority in the citizens. That makes it easier to control them.

they also smelled something and heard a toilet flushing. Truthfully, I'm waiting for a few cops to get killed pulling this kind of crap. It's not something I'm hoping for but it is something that will be necessary to stop it.

>>they also smelled something and heard a toilet flushing.<<

I think we can all learn something very important here: Before flushing, always check all windows to see if there are jack booted thugs waiting to enter. This could have been so easily avoided.

How much work would it have been for the FBI to send an agent to visit the landlord and inquire as to who is currently renting that particular property from him? “No, Sondra Hunter moved out two years ago. Here’s her forwarding address.”

This doesn’t require Sherlock Holmesian detective skills. I am beginning to feel that they are more focused in getting their jollies terrorizing innocent people and breaking things than they are with thinking. Except for the badge, how are they different from the yoots in Vancouver last week?

If they had a warrant, why not knock like civilized people and ask if the suspect is there? Let the homeowner read the warrant.

The homeowner says she’s not there? OK if you don’t believe him, come in and look around for a few minutes. Check under the beds, in closets, in the shower...then LEAVE without pointing guns at children or smashing doors. Have a guy watching the back door in case she is there and tries to run.

But no, I guess doing it that way wouldn’t puff up the cops’ swelled heads and let them feel macho.

The problem with these cops is that they watch too much TV, where every suspect cuts loose with a MAC-10 when they’re about to get arrested.

Now we have thousands of roided-up paramilitary goons who think they’re living an episode of “The Shield,” treating us all like we’re MS-13 gangbangers on a three-day meth high.

There are good cops and bad cops. The problem is that the cop-cops protect the bad cops at the expense of the good cops. In Cleveland last year there were 39 questionable police shootings. Some of them out and out murder. But the "investigations" found that every one of the 39 was "justified."

The legitimacy of gubbermint is just about exhausted in this country, and there will be some hell to pay to restore it.

Hey, they had all that new paramilitary cop equipment just lying around. A search warrant is an excellent opportunity to dress up and break some stuff.

I wonder how the “defend-law-enforcement-no-matter-what” crowd will justify this. Aiming at CHILDREN who have committed no crime?

and here is where the problem lies...the libs have known since the ‘60’s that the real power lies in the judicial branch..that is why when they have power, they pack the courts...the cop that busts down your door, and possibly shoots you dead, is acting on orders...he will be exonerated...the police officer that planned the raid was acting upon orders from the DA and a judge...they will be exonerated...the DA went to a judge and got a warrant signed off...THEY will be exonerated...That just leaves a judge who gives a warrant to whoever can get him/her reelected...the bottom line is judges..most of them are elected.. question to all freepers.. did YOU vote against the incumbent judge in the last election??? I did, because they are just politicians, and politicans and babies have one thing in common...they need to be changed often, and for the same reason...

You'll hear [crickets] from that crowd. They didn't say a thing about the killings of the innocents at Ruby Ridge or Waco either.
