I have a dream.
Thats how Herman Cain launched his keynote speech at the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans today.
Cain clarified that he had two dreams. One, that the GOP win the House and Senate in 2012. Two, that the audience was looking at the next president of the United States of America.
Shooting back at critics who had decried his candidacy, Cain said, To Mr. [Bill] OReilly, Mr. [Karl] Rove, Mr. [Charles] Krauthammer, I didnt get the memo that Im not supposed to run.
He also had a response for those who said of his lack of foreign policy experience was a fatal flaw. Youre right, Cain said. I dont have any foreign policy experience, but you dont need foreign policy experience to know your friends and your enemies.
You dont have to be a rocket scientist to figure you stand by your friends and keep an eye on your enemies, he added.
To those who charged him with not understanding the Washington culture, Cain replied, I do. It doesnt work. Thats why Im coming.
During the speech, Cain outlined his economic plan: eliminate the capital gains tax, make 25 percent the highest corporate and individual tax rate, institute a real payroll tax holiday, suspend taxes on foreign repatriated profits. The most important step would be to make all those cuts permanent: Uncertainty is killing this economy.
When we put the right person in the white house moi Americas exceptionalism will be obvious again, Cain said, referencing New Orleanss French heritage.
He positioned himself as a problem solver. People are sick and tired of being sick and tired of problems not being solved in Washington, D.C., Cain observed.
For Cain, the goal is to stay on offense: to change our current policies so that the futures prosperity is preserved.
Because the founding fathers did their job, we got to be the defending fathers, he said.
Martin Luther King, Jr., for all his faults, had a dream: of equality.
Going by Cain’s speech his “dream” is of Republican power.
[Who do you like? ]
those 3... but Caine is too new politically.. I want to like him..
And will if he looks the dragon in the face and spits..
But even then.. its Bachmann.. not because shes so good but because of no other choice..
She IS a lawyer.. which gives me the willys..
I like Palin but if she runs I will lose respect for her..
those girls and her husband do NOT need her running for president..
She probably will not run.. because of all that.. if it plays out..
I have much respect for her.. even more because of the wisdom of it..
I know Santorum is another choice.. maybe him as Veep.. for Bachmann..
I would like to see Caine appointed to some Executive branch position..
and thats the way it IS this saturday..
[ I am even suspicous of Palin.. Really? Why? ]
Because I’ve grown very cynical..
I hope for the best but prepare for the worst..
I call it.. Opti-Pessimism..
I really wish people would stop using that term.
Herman Cain is black, and he is awesome. A Cain/Bachmann ticket would be fantastic.
Herman is the only one who can beat the Obamanation but the end of America has already come and there are not enough of the righteous left to overcome the monster propaganda of the media and false conservative propaganda from the psycho replublican trojans who want to bring a man like that down.
There are fake republicans/conservatives on this site promoting the targeted people they know will loose to Obama and spamming reverse psycology propaganda meant to discredit Cain who they know can beat Obama.
You cannot trust anyone in the major party systems anymore, they are all infiltrated by Marxist plants. America is getting what it deserves for allowing itself to be taken over by the Nihilistic Darwinist, Antichristian Marxist religion.
I won’t vote for Bachmann..

Tea party favorite Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., has unveiled a plan for cutting $400 billion in federal spending that includes freezing Veterans Affairs Department health care spending and cutting veterans disability benefits.
Her proposed VA budget cuts would account for $4.5 billion of the savings included in the plan, posted on her official House of Representatives website.
Bachmann is NO Sarah Palin. I would never vote for Michelle Bachmann..Bachmann plan would cut veterans benefits

When his rationale for not signing the prolife pledge is because he believes that lawmaking ought to be the purview of congress, then I think we have a winner.
Understood. You have every right to feel that way, given what this nation's gone through in recent years.
All I can ask, is that you keep watching Sarah. In time, I think she'll make a believer out of you. She really is the real deal.
Well, damn. That's yet another black mark against her. I'm becoming mighty disappointed in Bachmann.
[ All I can ask, is that you keep watching Sarah. In time, I think she’ll make a believer out of you. ]
I live a few miles from her.. I am already Palinified..
I probably know more about her than you do..
So why do you say that you're "suspicious" of her? Seems like you'd have a better than average feel for who she is.
Not a challenge. I'm really curious.
Bachmann’s campaign mgr on Palin said “Sarah has not been serious over the last couple of years. She got the vice-presidential thing handed to her. She didnt go to work in the sense of trying gain more substance. She gave up her governorship.”
Sarah did not get the vp offer just handed to her...due to her credentials she was selected. Why would Bachmanns campaign mgr say such a thing? better if they had shut their traps
From what I've read about Ed Rollins, he's something of an arrogant loudmouth and a bully. He's been a political operative for decades, and has a reputation for attacking opponents (or so I hear).
Bachmann didn't order Rollins to apologize to Palin, and she herself has been completely mum about what happened. That makes her look weak and without personal integrity, to me.
At first I was willing to give Michele the benefit of the doubt, but too much time has passed now, and she's still said nothing. That's a major fail in my book, and unforgivable.

Cause I think the federal government is somehow someway controlled by a shadow government..
Cloward-Piven tends to give that justification as well..
Soros “wake” is far too big and I think he is just one of the seditionists..
What Murcowski pulled in our Senate race proved the shadow thing may extend to some State governments as well..
I judge “them” by what they “DO” not by what they say they will do..
Example: Col. West just voted for more Pigford money.. like the rest of the Black Caucus.. I couldn’t believe that.. but he did..
I believe that too, except that I don't think it's a shadow government - I believe it's more like a shadow of influence from an entrenched and corrupt ruling class.
As a class, this group of scum are more afraid of Sarah Palin, than they are of any other living human. They know that she is incorruptible, and that she holds a level of influence with the public that is greater than their own. They are deathly afraid that she will expose them with the searing light of truth, and that she will the the orchestrator of their demise.
They will do everything in their power to stop her, including intimidation, threats, lies, payments, leverage, unholy alliances, fear mongering, cheating, bluster, diversions, coercion, you name it. Whatever it takes to save their worthless hides is what they'll do, to keep her from presiding over our government.
She is the light - they are the darkness.
A better place to start would be the DEA, EPA, DOE, BATFE...
