Absolute drivel. The post is a perfect example for why home schooling is not for all.

We are due for an ice age to kick in at any time. Yes, though "any time" in ice age terms could mean in a decade or in a millenium.
We only have a few years of high-tech observations, and what is happening now is outside the experience of that observation window. It does seem to match well with the solar minimums that took place during the Little Ice Age (about 1550 to 1850).

sky watchers dont have the slightest idea of what is actually occuringHowever, ham radio operators know that the more sunspots, the better the long distance communication. We count on that 11 year cycle. I may have 3 left in my life. I will be ticked off if they all have wimpy peaks like this one.

Yep, just ask any Ham operator who would love to shoot a little DX, say on 6 meters for instance, or even 10 Meters. Interesting. I wonder if any Ham operators have kept historical records of those changes.

There isn't actually a conflict. Your article states that the Sun is (actually coming up on) the peak of
Solar Cycle 24, which is true. Solar cycles are generally measured by the number of sunspots, and average about 11 years in length.
The research referenced in this article suggests, based on three different types of measurements, that the solar cycles themselves are getting weaker, and that Solar Cycle 25 may not appear at all.

"Every" scientist agrees on global warming because there is no money for any research which doesn't start with global warming as a carved in stone axiom. Yep. The power to dispense or withhold funding for scientific research is the power to control, to a large extent, what that research will "find."

>> “I just hope that it isnt a true ice age - but it very well could be.” <<
Actually, there is no threat of any ‘ice age.’
The ice age was caused by the hot oceans that remained after the Genesis ‘flood.’ Nothing that extreme exists today, and all of the cooling we will witness will be due to either volcanic clouding, or reduced solar activity, or both.

I'm trying to figure out what a "Soviet" was and why we can't defeat them. Do they live in some fictional land like Narnia, Middle Earth or the Austro-Hungarian Empire? Long ago they lived in a land called Ussr. But they immigrated to the US and now mostly live in a block of land sandwiched between Maryland and Virginia.

Under Obama’s economic policies, even the Sun can’t afford to pay for its gas and has to cut back!

The one that killed all life on the surface, changed the entire face of the planet, created the tectonic plates and the mountains, and the so-called “fossil record” of the deposition and cementation of sediments.
To: rokkitapps
They already have that covered. The global warming nuts made the movie The Day After Tomorrow (2004). The premise is that the warm gulf stream flow stops (as a result of the reduced salinity from melting ice in Greenland & the artic) and Europe becomes cold which triggers a global ice age in a few months. They cast the US president as a exaggeration of Bush(a doofus wearing a baseball cap) and an evil power hungry VP resembling Cheney. At the end of the movie, the few remaining US citizens are grateful to cross the border and enter a welcoming Mexico.

Buy battery stocks and solar panel futures, but buy your own batteries and panels first. Then you can starve to death in a well-lit house.

The one that killed all life on the surface, changed the entire face of the planet, created the tectonic plates and the mountains, and the so-called fossil record of the deposition and cementation of sediments. This is a science thread. Let's not turn it into a creationist / evolutionist flame war.
For those of us who find persuasive the evidence that the Earth is more than 6,000 years old, the ice core record provides a useful look at the cyclic nature of ice ages.

Quick! We must de-industrialize Western Civilization! It's the only way to fix this!
Oh -- and we must raise taxes too!
And buy lots and lots of carbon credits from Al Gore lol
