If the anecdote is true, then it's going to be rip-roarin' popcorn-time fun if 2012 presidential contenders Palin and Obama go head-to-head in a live televised debate. In that scenario, I see it going one of two ways:

Either ... the rude reality shock of the combination of Obama's narcissism, on-the-edge mental fragility, and intellectual inferiority compared to Palin, pushes him off the rails -- and he makes an embarassing spectacle of himself on national TV ...

Or ... his handlers will make sure he's tranquilized via prescribed drugs going into the debate ... i.e., higher than a kite.

Either or, Palin steam-rolls him.
