I would not have a problem with it. I would just as soon consign that word to the ash heap of history. But the people who produce hip-hop apparently just refuse to let it die.
This is why I mention "Saving Private Ryan" - which was a dishonorable PC distortion of the 'Fighting Andersons' story.
But not going to see a historical film because the filmmakers renamed a dog does sound like a bizarre decision, yes.

Actually “633 Squadron” was a different movie (Cliff Robertson).
The Dam Busters were 617 Squareon.
Squareon = Squadron
There was originally an “i” there but it was donated to a vowel deficient eastern European country.
I guess when George Carlin redoes his “7 Dirty Words” routine he’ll be down to “One Dirty Word, Unless You’re the Proper Skin Shade,” which doesn’t have nearly as much comedic potential.

If it’s Peter Jackson it’s gonna be CGI/music blasting crap.
The beauty of the original film were the extended, tense cockpit scenes with nothing but radio/intercom dialogue and the drone of engines.
I seriously doubt this remake will retain anything of value from the original.
