On the day a poll showed Barack Obama owning the failing economic recovery, a CBS News Washington Bureau reporter questioned Michelle Obama's judgment in wearing a $7,000 gown at tonight's state dinner for German Chancellor Angela Merkel, noting that other guests "dressed more modestly."
Writing on Twitter, CBS News reporter Christine Delargy said:
Gowns by Michelle designer Naeem Khan retail avg of $7,000. Good, bad image for Obama in poor economy? Most din guests dressed more modestly 30 minutes ago via Twitter for BlackBerry®
In a previous Tweet, Delargy noted her fashion expertise:
Michelle in Naeem Khan tonight. Wore same designer @ 1st state din for Indian PM. @markknoller has record of everything else. I have fashion about 1 hour ago via Twitter for BlackBerry®

Wake up people!
USDA Spending $10 Million to Promote Farmer’s Markets in Michelle Obama’s ‘Food Deserts’
The U.S Agriculture Department is offering $10 million in grants twice as much as last year to promote farmers markets, roadside stands and other healthy food outlets across the country.
The priority this year is to bring fresh food to people living in rural and urban food deserts, a concept advanced by First Lady Michelle Obama. Food deserts are defined as areas with limited access to affordable and nutritious food, particularly those composed of predominantly lower-income neighborhoods and communities.
Deputy Agriculture Secretary Kathleen Merrigan announced the availability of the taxpayer-funded farmers market grants last Friday, at the opening of the 2011 USDA Farmers Market in Washington.

Michelle Fashion Police Alert Ping!

Why the designer made the dress too long for her, is beyond me. She shouldn’t have to keep picking it up just to walk.
Oh my, she needs a Spanx and a slip. Her underwear outline is showing again.
Then again she could have her dress hemmed properly so as not to have to hitch it up to walk.
Bless her heart some deportment lessons would help too.
“Also, does she always have to show her shoulders like that?”
Yes, especially at formal events. Jackie O always did. I’m pretty sure it’s a requirement in Emily Post. /sarc
I agree. I just wonder if she is paying for her wardrobe with her own money. The MSM is too busy fawning over her “exquisite taste” to ask who pays for it.
"Qu'ils mangent de la brioche"
She is poor taste.
Meeshell looks best when wearing designer gowns, because then she pulls out the good wig!
I wanna know who pays for all this expensive trash, vacations, outings, duds, etc.
The dress is a knock out. It looks great on her. Good fashon move. I just hope she bought it with Obama money or it was on loan from the designer.
Well, I got the sack dress right. She just doesn’t look like herself without her “gut buster” belt.
Maybe its one of those sleek ones my aunt Rose wore, that goes under your clothing. Squeezes 50 pounds of fat into a 20 pound bag, laces up the back, that sort of thing.
I heard a story from my mom (that I wasn’t supposed to over hear), that my uncle Wally had to literally put his foot on my aunts back and lace up her “gut buster” before church each sunday. No idea if it is true, I never would have had the courage to bring it up when I was a kid, but I think Moochelle may have found one of them babies.
I can just see the secret service standing on her back pulling the strings to tighten up “the Iron Curtain”.
It looks like they are all admiring the red carpet. Strange pic.

Not that I’m an expert, but her clothing usually strikes me as rather tacky, despite the cost. This dress actually looks good. Just one question - what the he!! is she wearing on her wrist?!
There ya go.
