Hidalgo County Sheriff Department has confirmed that New Mexico rancher, Larry Link, was murdered earlier today on his property.
Sources are reporting that the rancher was responding to an alleged- illegal alien on his property at Stein’s Ghost Town when the he was gunned-down. The murder took place on the southwest side of the state near the Arizona border on Interstate 10 at mile marker three.
The Hidalgo Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene, only to find the rancher had already died.

The government could actually turn a profit if somebody simply used their head. With today’s technology, people could (and gladly WOULD!) pay $$$ for the opportunity to man remote machine-gun bunkers - - say, for an hour at a time - - from their own home computers. Set up remote machine gun nests every 100 yards or so along the border and give home users the opportunity to visually monitor a section of the border. When those home users see illegal aliens come into view, they would have the ability, using a Nintendo-style controller, to aim their machine guns and blast away.
There could even be monthly rewards for “most kills”!
All you need is 25,000 armed and ticked off citizens to mass on the border,, who’s gonna stop you? We know they aint going to send troop’s there now.

There are many fires right now but there is a major one near where this man was murdered. The Horseshoe 2 Fire is about 45 miles South of where this man was murdered, between where he was murdered and the Mexican border. This man was murdered near Lordsburg, NM. The Horseshoe 2 is believed to have been started by smugglers and has consumed over 100,000 acres and is costing about one million dollars a day to fight. It is also the area where firefighters were given the warnings about encountering border issues/dangers while in the area fighting fires.
This area is a major smuggling corridor and some smugglers may have moved a little because of fires but it is always a major corridor. Rancher Rob Krentz was also killed in this same smuggling corridor- South of where this man was killed. In fact if you draw a line from the Mexican border to where Rob Krentz was murdered and then continue the line to the freeway you will intersect the freeway very close to where this man was murdered.

It was a no man’s land when we moved here nearly 30 years ago. I remember a community meeting to discuss getting a deputy assigned here full time after several years of not having one- a man stood up in the back of the room and told the County Commissioners we didn’t need any law down here. It was before the movie Tombstone came out but when the movie came out and had a similiar line in it I really laughed.
To some I guess it still is a no-man’s land but we definately have more LEO of all varieties. It is a lot of country to cover though so depending on where you need LEO response times can still be around an hour. When it comes to trouble we usually have to do what we can to deal with the situation and then call 911.
Speaking of Southern Luna County I am sure you caught the story recently about most of the officials of the town of Columbus being arrested for running guns to Mexico.

I’m afraid people in AZ and NM agree with Obama and Napolitano on most things. They “look after” the people.
this admin were having closed door meetings about how to bring homosexuality into the public schools, no one from the media or the GOP were allowed and this admin does this while another American gets killed.
